Hi ,

When you hear 5 beeps while booting or turning the computer off it is related to the operation of critical motherboard components - such as the CPU.Please try these steps to try fixing this problem .

Open up the computer tower and then once the side panel is out a test on the motherboard needs to be done and to do that look for the memory cards(Ram ) which would be green in colour,4 inches long and would be inserted in a slot that has clips in either ends that holds the card in the slot firmly. There can be one or more than one so remove the memory cards and then turn the computer on by just connecting the power cable, you should hear long beeping noise if you dont hear any then the motherboard needs to be replaced or needs to be serviced.

allthe best

I need to reset my combination to my mesa safe

This safe was shipped with a factory Master Code of 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.

If you changed the Master Code you will need to use the code you changed it to.

Deleting your current User Codes:
Input * - * lock will beep twice
input 6-6-6-# lock will beep twice
Input current Master Code - # lock will beep twice
Input user number - # lock will beep twice (not user code, user number is which user number you want to delete 1,2,3,4 or 5)
Re-input user number - # light stays green for 3 seconds

Example: * - * - 6 - 6 - 6 - # Master Code - # - 5 - # - 5 #
This will delete user 5
Unsuccessful code change: five beeps, repeat the steps.

Changing User Codes: Code length can be 3 to 8 digits long
Input * - * lock will beep twice
Input 4 - 4 - 4 - # lock will beep twice
Input Current User Code - # lock will beep twice
Input User Number - #
Input New User Code - # lock will beep twice
Re-input New User Code - # light stays green for 3 seconds

Example: * - * - 3 - 3 - 3 -# - User Code 2 - # - 2 - # -New User Code - # - New User Code - #

That example will change user code 2.
Unsuccessful Code Change: five beeps, repeat the steps.

There are other things you can do with the MSL-500 lock that comes on the MFL-2014E. You can change the master code, activate user codes, change user codes, delete user codes, set single user or dual user modes (dual user modes requires two user codes to be entered each time you want to open the safe, set the time delay.

The Mesa safe company has a website which does have the operating instructions for the MSL-500 electronic lock. A Google search of "Mesa MSL-500 Operating Instructions" would get you there quickly.

My machine does not allow the operating system to load. Red light and sequence of five short beeps repeated five times. (Fails to Boot)

May be your OS is crashed
First you should check your RAM that is inserted correctly and the IDE cable of hard disk stable correctly with motherboard.
if all hardware is ok then you should reinstall your OS by Bootable CD,

At start up, before windows loads, a consistent series of annoying beeping occurs....

If they're occurring right as you turn the computer on, it's your Power On Self Test (aka POST) letting you know. Since I can't be more specific, here's a synopsis of POST beeps:

One single beep followed by three, four, or five beeps -- System-board problems, possibly with DMA, CMOS setup chip, timer, or system bus. The computer usually won't boot when this is the problem.

Two beeps -- The POST numeric code is displayed on the monitor, usually nothing to be concerned about, but you might google the code on another computer and see what you get.

Two beeps followed be three, four, or five beeps -- First 64K of RAM has errors. Solution is to replace RAM.

Three beeps followed by three, four, or five beeps -- Keyboard controller failed or video controller failed. Either you won't be able to see or type with this error.

Four beeps followed by three, four, or five beeps -- Problem with serial or parallel ports, system timer, or time of day. Check your BIOS settings (usually F2 at start up) to make sure everything is correct.

Continuous beeps - problem with power supply. Probably won't do much with this error. At the very best, your computer will boot and run very, very slowly.

Hope that helped.

I have a presario compaq v3230AU lap top that does not boot.the power turns on but the screen remains blank.wat could be the problem.please advice

Hi there. It would help if you provided more info regarding your problem. The follwing would be good startpoints:

1. What was the last time you were able to do with the laptop?
2. Have you made changes [immediately] before the issue started happening?
3. How old is the PC?
4. What are its specifications (ie.CPU speed, memory type and size, OS, etc.)
5. Have you experienced this same problem before using the same computer, or on another computer?

Well, here's a shot in the dark. If the unit is, say more than 5 years old, it's probably a hardware defect. Meaning your unit's screen display data connection is already out of order. This usually happends to laptops with data connections too compactly embedded between the hinge of the laptop lid and chassis.
