Question about Acer Aspire L100 PC Desktop

Keyboard / Mouse Not Working

I ran a HD Defrag and went to bed while it was running. Apparently comp shut itself off. Next morning, booted up comp only to notice that it wasn't seeing Keybord / Mouse. Tried 3 different Keyboards / Mice.
It will boot up but I have no way of entering user password to complete boot up. Any suggestions? For time being, I had to rent a computer until this one is fixed or new one purchased (pending tax refund)

Thank You. However, there are no PS2 connections on this particular computer. This computer only has USB connections.

    Thanks

Hi armywifeb, for a small fee you can go to Wallmart or BestBuy & buy a PS2 to USB cable for your PC This cable is a Y connector which allows you to plug both, you're PS2 mouse & PS2 keyboard into one end of the Y cable, than plug it into a free USB port. This should help you get through tax season. The link below will give you an idea of what your looking for.
(This is the part).

After tax season is over, please back up all your personal data to either a CD/DVDRW or a slave drive. You will need to format the drive & re-install windows before thinking of buying a new board.
I also suggest, not using windows to format the drive but the drive's Mfg's software tools to format, test & setup of the hard drive. (Better testing & better tools). Just find the name of the drive (Listed on a white sticker) & go to the web site of the Mfg. Download either software for a bootable floppy disk or the software tools for a bootable CD.

Good Luck & Kind Regards.
If I can be of more service, just ask.

Mike

After installing hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse not working

Have you tried to enter BIOS? Are you able to enter BIOS?? There may be an option you have to hit to enable SATA, and to select the boot device order, which may be messing things up.
Also, remember that STATIC ELECTRICITY is your enemy! Ground yourself when working inside the case.

T6534 boot issue.

Without testing for myself, It sounds like a hardware compatibility issue. Cant say for sure without more info. Try all the components, one at a time, in another PC if you have the capability. Mainly the HDD, CPU , and memory. I have had this happen in the past. For no reason at all the components wont work together. Put them with other components in another PC and they work fine. Cant explain it, but it happens. Not as much as it used too though. Dont expect it would have anything to do with vista, except bad hardware trying to load the OS. If it were Vista, it would at least boot, in some form, even if it went to BSOD. The OS would not corrupt the BIOS. But a bad flash would, (or even a Virus). If you can, Try flashing the bios to the origional version. With the varied problems your having, I'd start there.

Emachine boots to bios with a new hard drive installed

Go inside to your BIOS menu then set the BOOT sequence to CD as the first boot so when your PC with the operating system installation disk inside it will load the installation wizard.
Good luck hope that helps........

Gateway 610 k/b & mouse unrecognized..CMOS problem??

It's not the K/M, there probably was a surge that went through, and effected the motherboard in the computer. so you can take it to your local computer shop. But, before you bring it there, back up your important files because they might have to format your HD.

Hp a305w Pavilion No Mouse or Keyboard at first bootup

i would reset your keyboard and mouse settings to default then shut down pc.. unplug components and wait for 3o secs and then try again.. if the problem persists, you may just have some loose connections especially if your pc is older..make sure there is enough slack for your mouse and keyboard wire to move around.. i know sometimes we can ruin them if we have then stretched to far out.. hope this helps.. d
