This arrangement should apply to both the HD AA/FP or the Standard AC'97 Headers.
Maybe it's not recognized. Unplug every audio device, open Realtek HD Audio Manager and start plugging them back one at a time, the manager should automatically detect that something was plugged in a specific port. Just tell it what you have plugged.
If your CPU is vertical then you have plug your audio pin and mic pin at rear part. If your CPU is horizontal then try to do this at front part. And you can also find it as , howmany pins in your cable.
hi im josh in cebu phils. may i help you? friend if the problem is your mic socket is not working. try buy a new sound card then put it in the pci slot. it will give you new sockets for audio, mic.etc.at the same time it will give you better audio performance. good luck.
If this is the first time you are attempting to use the mic, it must be setup through control panel. Open control panel. Find & open the icon, Sounds and audio decives window will open. Once opened click on the Voice tab. At the bottom of the the window is a button, " Test hardware ". Click it. Follow the instructions from the next few windows. You can not use both front & rear ports at the same time. The ports that work for sound will work for mic once it has been set up.
Open system properities. click hardware tab & than device manager. Scoll down to Sound, video & game controller. Do you see a yellow ! point there. That means the driver may need to be reinstalled. Asus is famous for having defective mic controllers & yes the sound works but no mic. You can also open control panel open sound & audio devices. You should have the same device under Audio & Voice. If you do, again your intergrated mic controller is bad. Your manual most likely will not have the correct number to call tech. They moved in 07.
