The tray on my toshiba SH-S202 wont stop ejecting....well, all it does is go in and out. I like this unit and would like to get it working right.

Hi,thanks for using fixya.

There is a little hole in the front panel use a pin for push, then soon after your eject will run,but it is not permanent solution ,
Please switch off the dvd rw, and open all the screw with the help of local technician,
And change the drawer belt from any any damage CD ROM .
Hope it will help

SH-S202 wont read disks

Hi,

Plug it in, then goto device manager and uninstall it, then right click on your pc at the top of the device manager and click "Scan for changes", the drivers might be corrupt.

If you still have a problem after this let me know.

Cheers

Read only cd-r not dvd

Have the same problem, it used to work and suddenly it wont do it anymore. I guess this is due to windows XP updates. Windows says that the driver is up to date and I also installed the latest firmware. I am using Nero 7 to burn. I had troubles before but somehow fixed it. Now when I insert a DVD (data) and try to open the dvd drive the whole computer hangs. The content shows for a moment before the computer freezes so it IS in the DVD.
