Removing the cover of the Canon PIXMA iP4300

I tried to figure out how to remove the cover from the Canon PIXMA iP4300 based on your written instructions. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck. I found only four slots with arrows; I couldn't find a fifth. I released the two in the back and one on each side. There's still something holding the front of the cover on and I can't figure out what it is. Any help, pictures, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks.

You mention a set of written instructions & 5 slots I can find four but not the 5th one at the front
Do I need new glasses or a brain transplant?
I would like to have a look at the written instructions mentioned
by the way I have no problem removing the covers of 4200, 5200, 9950
I also have a 5300 with the same problem something is holding the cover at the front

SOURCE: "Paper Output Slot Jammed" Canon Pixma iP4300

These printers are FULL of very sensitive sensors, and chances are that one of them may have a small piece of paper blocking them. If you can get the covers off by finding the "Triangle" arrow markers, you can inspect all these sensors.

Good luck!!!

My canon ip4300 wont do anything when trying to clean or print it just says it's in ERROR mode please help x

It may have lost track of where the head is, even though it calibrates when starting up. (Like when you remove jammed paper forcefully).
First check: make sure the front flap used to print a cd is closed - it tends to come loose easily.
If that isn't the problem, then:
Switch the printer on. When the head comes in view, remove the power plug. Then move the head all the way to the left. Close the cover. Put the power plug back in and switch on.

My canon pixma iP4300 wont print cyan, I have perfoermed deep head cleaning, replaced cartrdges 6 times and still same problem

Unfortunately the problem is in the printhead situated just under where the ink cartridges go. It can be removed by removing ink cartridges and lifting it out from the top. You could try cleaning it or dispersing it in a mil of hot water for 1 minute while holding it. Then dry it, reinstall it and run deep clean again. Unfortunately this does not work very often but you could get lucky.
If not then only alternative is to buy another printhead and they cost more than the printer is worth.

I have a Canon Pixma ip4300. I replaced the 5 PGBK (the large non-photo black) cartridge and I went to print. A piece of paper got jammed, so I pulled that out and since then, that brand new cartridge...

Hi I think you may find a very small bit of paper may jammed under the print head, try removing the cartridge and have a close inspection, it only takes a tiny piece to cause the problem cheers Terry

I have a Canon Pixma iP4300 printer and the Yellow ink is not printing. I have changed the particular cartridge and all other colours are working except Yellow. I have cleansed the printer several times and tried with new Yellow ink cartridges with new chips, but nothing helps.
What should I do?
