hi, i had this problem and it is really annoying, but is a really easy fix, first you must turn on your console leave the controller off, hold the sync button on the console for 30 seconds then turn the console off, remove all the wires from the console and the power plug from the wall, after about 5 minutes, reconnect the wires and turn the console on then the controller, now try and sync them, if this hasnt worked im sorry try calling microsoft im sure they can help. www.xbox.com/support

My Xbox tearing my disc

Your discs may be becoming unseated from the draw. Try lying the xbox down on its belly rather than standing it up. And whatever you do dont move the xbox when it is on and a disk is inside it.

The only solution for this is to contact the customer support of xbox. First, you have to provide your account information so that they will be able to verify that it really is yours, then they will be forwarding the call to their supervisor who will be informing you about the next step. There is no work around here but for you to contact them. - 18004myxbox

Try a different game, if it works than it's your copy of halo. If not than you have a more serious problem.

Xbox 360

Well thats very hard to do, the problem is that the xbox is overheating, more specific the GPU, thats why it freezes. The easy way would be to open your xbox an leave it that way, I have a xbox that works just when is all open with the parts expose. Very strange but it works. Also put some new thermal compound on your GPU and heatsink.
You could make the room where you play very cold so the xbox will not overheat or put some big fans near the xbox hoping they cool it down. Or stop playing like 15 minutes every 2 hours so it cools.

Xbox problems

try replacing your audio and video wires that connect from the Xbox to the TV.. if this doesn't work send the console back to Microsoft and they will repair it free of charge and ship it to you in about 3 weeks.

use the towell trick! Wrap the 360 in 2 towells turn on and leave running for 15 minutes. It gets very hot but after the 15 minutes turn off the console and power it back on again and it should work. Dont know if this is a permanent fix but my 360 hasnt broken again so far. Dont ask me how but it works, google it if you like. It also cures the 3 red lights problem.
