This morning I was using my phone, put it in my pocket and the next time I took it out to use it, it won't turn on. When I put it on the charger, it says "Battery is required" My enV isn't very old and so the battery shouldn't have died already.

Since you have mentioned about an hardware stress on the phone, the contacts to the display of the phone needs to be checked. Something has broken so that the power to the display or the power button is not working . Have it checked at a phone repair shop mentioning these points
1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength. 2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery. 3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover. 4.Remove the battery. 5.Wait 10 seconds. 6.Press and hold the W key. 7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery. •The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears •Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds. Step Thanks
Chances are your phone got too hot during the night and overcharged the Lithium Ion battery. If those batteries are exposed to too much heat then they won't have the battery life they used to have. You need to purchase a replacement battery or contact your wireless carrier to see about getting another one.

Send the phone into LG, they will have there technician diagnose the phone. I have the exact same problem. I took my phone out of my pocket and there was a big crack on the LCD screen. My phone is going to LG Canada today, they (LG) told me it sounds like a manufactures defect.
if you are using a new katana you can either memorize or write down teh button sequence to navigate to the bluetooth settings that need to be changed for the data transfer to occur. thats what i had to do with mine after i ran it over with a snow plow. phone still works just no display... and its in two pieces. it took about an hour to get it all right, but it should work.
