Hi,
You can find the instructions to remove the old Keyboard of the Notebook and replace it with a new one by following the instructions availiable in the Manual of the Notebook from the link below :
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035657.pdf

You can find the required instructions to remove and replace the Keyboard of the Notebook starting from page number 137 of 310 in the Manual.
You may need to unscrew 3 of the screws from beneath the Notebook to remove the old Keyboard.
Hope this helps...

How can I unlock the blue function keys on my HP Pavilion dv2000?

If you press the function key (Fn) it should unlock the function keys with normal use. However, sometimes when an external device is removed from the computer while it's in use (such as an external keyboard) the function keys will turn on and refuse to turn off. When this occurs you can typically reboot the computer and the problem will fix itself.

Problem with laptop key board i am not getting original character

It sounds like there is a connection problem,
if you are still on the warrenty call up HP and see what they say.
if your not then your probably going to have to find a diagram and do it yourself,
if your not a trained system tech-ie i would advise going to a computer repair shop which will be expensive but your laptop is useless with this consistant problem.

It might just be a driver issue, i would look into seeing if your drivers all up to date, and disinstall and reinstall your keyboard which is fairly easy.

Laptop keyboard

Hi,

If a key is popped up, its better to replace the keyboard instead of trying to put it back on the laptop.

You can call HP they will always replace the keyboard, if the key popped up.

If you dont have warranty you can better buy a new keyboard.

It is better to but a new keyboar, than to give someoone the same money to replace the old one.

Good Luck.
