We had the exact same issue. Turns out my wife had inadvertantly sucked up a magnet that was the same size ans the tube. Hold the tube up to a light source. If you cannot see any light, there is something stuck in it. To dislodge the item, stretch out a wire hanger and run it through the tube. It should lislodge the item. Dyson's are great but are very tempermental!

Why has my dyson dc50 have no suction on the pipe

If you did put it together as it should, the only thing I can think of, is something got stuck in the pipe. Check this.
Old vacuums you could put the hose and or pipe to the other end of the vacuum, to blow it out. Now you have to be a little inventive to check a blockage.

DC25 no suction at head?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm not sure from your question how you're testing the suction at the cleaner head. For safety reasons we'd strongly advise against placing a hand underneath the cleaner head. This is not a good way of testing suction - the soleplate needs to form a close seal with the floor surface for high pick up. It's normal for the suction to feel stronger through the wand and through the cleaner head inlet as the suction is concentrated over a much smaller area.
If you place the cleaner head on a sheet of newspaper, then run the machine with the brush bar turned off, you should see the newspaper sticks to the cleaner head, as it's able to seal with the soleplate.

If you have lost suction, you most likely have a blockage or the filters need cleaning.
