I bought an Insignia DVD Player a month ago and it has worked fine...until now. I started watching a storebought DVD and it froze. Could not fast forward or rewind, had to turn DVD Player off. Now when I try to reload this disk, or ANY disk, all I get is a "Unknown Disc" message, none of my DVDs will load. What is wrong????

1.- Power on with no DVD inside the player;

3.- Press Menu button on DVD (or SETUP on remote control), (you see General Setup Page on the screen);
4.- Press the right key 3 times to select the Preference Page;
5.- On the remote control press 9653;
6.- Use the up and down key to select the Region, Select 0 for all regions;
7.- Press Enter.
(This works with NS-7PDVD and NS-8PDVD)
just to the right of the source button there is what appears to be a recessed small button (approx 1/8"dia). It is a safety stud for an internal safety switch. If the small stud is set to deep the screen will shut off. It should be just about flush with the surface of the player. Mine was visibly crooked and jammed down almost inside. Pulled it up, made minor adjustment and the player works just fine.
