Did you try the manual before posting here, you could also get a faster more accurate response by including details about the problem, operating system and what make camera as CheeseAvenger mentioned in the previous post, try plugging it in and making sure its on if it has a power-switch then install the included software if it has any, those are the step normally associated with getting any device to work, if the instructions don't work then there is a problem which you did not include any details that describe an actual problem beyond the fact that it's not working which could be a result of not following the instructions that came with the device. I'm not trying to sound condescending or anything like that, but I have noticed a trend on here to post questions with no details about the problem making them impossible to solve, if you don't thinks its important included it anyway, include anything you have already done or tried, anything that changed since it last worked, what operating system, do you have a software disk that came with it, did you loose it or was there not a disk in the first place, what kind of web-cam is in a logitech, Microsoft, dell, who makes it what does the manual say to do, did you try anything from the manufacturers website, did you have the camera or another one installed previously, there are a lot of factors when working on PC's if you leave one out it could be the problem.

I bought a webcam for my laptop and it does not work.I have installed the the down load and my trust webcam still does not work. The number on it is WB1400T

Make sure that you have connected your webcam to an USB port. If ti is still not working, try it on other USB ports especially on the back of your PC. If it still doesn't work, your webcam might be faulty, so you should go to the shop from where you bought it and get a refund.

Ok I have a hp compaq presario cq62-210us. How do I use my biulded in webcam

If the webcam stopped working, or if the webcam icon is not displayed on either the desktop or the My Computer window, or cannot be started from the Windows Start menu, the webcam may be disabled. To enable the webcam, do the following actions.

1. Open the Device Manager .

2. Click on the plus (+ ) sign next to Imaging Devices and locate the webcam item in the device list.

3. If the webcam is listed under Imaging Devices but there is a red X on the icon, the webcam is disabled.

To enable the webcam, right-click the HP Webcam for XP icon and click Enable . The webcam icon should now display on the Desktop or the My Computer window.

Try uninstalling yahoo then reinstallig it. Yahoo is quite picky about the webcam resources it uses, this will fix it 9 times out of ten.

There is a simple solution to this kind of issue but I can't figure why. Here it is:
If you are using YM and having issue with webcam, try this:

open up a new account with YM then try access your webcam in the YM Setup. Let me know if this works.
