Question about Epson C64 InkJet Printer

Epson rx620 pink color missing lines

EMail: gtriffitt@hotmail.co.uk

My rx620 when it does a nozzle check it misses lines with the pink color only a line at the top and a line at the bottom. I have tried a number of head cleans but to no avail. I took the machine to the local store and they tried cleaning it with cleaning cartridges but no luck. I have called an epson dealer and he says he will check it for me but it will cost perhaps more than the printer is worth. Could you please give some advise?

This is aimed at arbat, since it's an awful long time since tomintown had the problem!

Are you confident the yellow cartridge is good? Have you tried replacing it? If you are confident that the yellow cartridge is
working properly, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head assembly by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head assembly fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean again. If still nothing, report back.

If the print-heads are clogged, and your attempts to "unclog" have failed, it's time to responsibly recycle the printer, and buy a new Epson (hopefully, one that uses the same ink-cartridges that you have been using).

Epson RX620 HAS STOPPED PRINTING YELLOW - NO ERROR MESSAGE - WE HAVE TRIED NEW CARTRIDGE AND CLEARED NOZZLE. ANY IDEAS?

I see the Epson site is a lot of help? When a color stops working and you know the cartridge is new or full you have to trace from the cartridge to the nozzle. The nozzles can be soaked in tap water to loosen deposits, then cleaned with a non metal instrument.Toothpick, toothbrush and the like. You have to look at the feed lines or tubes too,the ink will dry or thicken in them.Last but not least,Epson's site will let you contact them with specific problems.

Every fifth line or so of text has a missing streak in the middle. ie across the page Do I need to clean something??

Check nozzle. Is there some lines missing? Do head cleaning procedure from peinter maintenance. Wait for 15 minutes. Check nozzle again. If there is just little missing lines, you can print with fine/photo quality fot better result.

When printing a red line appears about every 8mm through the all of the page i am useing a epson rx630 fred

It means some nozzle not perfect. If you check nozzle, there is missing lines for some nozzle. Example : Print blue color ( 100% cyan + 100% magenta). If some point of cyan head is clog, the output will be shown that at some lines just show magenta. It repeated. Yous said every 8 mm, so, you must print it at best photo quality. If you have print at best photo quality, and lines still appear, it must some nozlle badly clog. Try do head cleaning, wait for 30 minutes. Check Nozzle.

Possible printhead or driver issue.
Are you using Adobe photoshop? Please try to print also using a different application to isolate the issue.
Make sure that you are using correct epson cartridges.
Please print a nozzle check pattern. If you see gaps, missing colors or missing lines on the pattern, clean the printhead using the driver.
If the nozzle check pattern printed out successfully, please trash and re-install the drivers. The driver is available on epson.com

When I print or copy there are missing lines of print.

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a badly clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://www.powerklin.co.uk/?gclid=CNGDypir-JgCFQ4yQgodZlC4lw

Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning".
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Epson recommends printing a colorful document at least once a month to prevent nozzles getting clogged, see the Epson online guide:
http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=lkuCfcvA9cwxY9S6wZhcOql4VsOeN1ay&tc=5#10
Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Epson Stylus Pro 4800 InkJet (Color printing problems)

If you do a nozzle check...do a cleaning...then do another nozzle check, you can "read" the patterns to see exactly what the problem may be. If the first nozzle check is missing half, then you do the cleaning, and the second is missing half also, check the pattern of the box to see if the missing nozzles are jumping around. If the pattern is exactly the same, you have clogs. If the pattern jumps around, you are having ink starvation issues, and may need dampers.
