HP Digital Media Archive Pop UP

I getting a repeated a pop up box called Digital Media Archive that states "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is not available. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package EZARC.msi in the box below" "An installation package for the product HP Digital Media Archive cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installatio package EZARC.msi" When I click nothing happens and the pop up continue randomly. -I located the HP Archive inn the Add/Remove window and clicked on additional information which shows a source"HP" Clicking on this takes me to home page of Sonics and from there I can't find any reference to HP Digital Media Archive. -I also went to HP Application Recovery and tried to find HP Digital Media Archive to reinstall it, but it is not listed. I'm not on a network and have tried to find EZARC.msi with not luck. HELP! This problem occured when I reinstalled ZoneAlarm. I thought it was related.

For those with HP Media Center Computers having the EZARC.msi message. Here is the resolve, straight from HP Tech Support.

Sometimes, during load, Roxia Digital Media Archive doesn't load correctly, or becomes corrupt. This is where you are getting the EZARC.msi request from. If you follow these steps, you shoud resolve the problem.

start > all programs > HP Application Recovery

When the Application Recovery console comes up, Choose Application Installation then click NEXT.

When the list comes up, highlight Roxio DigitalMedia Archive by clicking on it, then click the "Install" button.

It will re-install Digital Media Archive, and fix your EZARC.msi search issue.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: HP Digital Media Archive Pop UP

Hello,

Sounds like you have may have it run on startup. Just to see you can use msconfig to temporarily disable it by following these steps:

Hello,

That usually means that a program that starts when Windows starts isnt functioning correctly, You can test it by clixking Start > Run > type Msconfig and press enter. After that click the startup tab. Here you will see programs that load when Windows starts.

If you recognize the program thats causing the issue, simply click the box to the left of the item to uncheck it and click OK. You will then be prompted to restart.

As the machine restarts, check to see if the issue has disappeared.

If so, great. Be aware that you that you will be prompted with a "System Configuration Utility" dialog that lets you know you are using Msconfig. If you don't want to be warned of this, click the box that says "Dont show this message..." and click OK.

If not, run Msconfig again, and uncheck the next suspicious program and repeat the process until the problem disappears.

Below is a link with information on using Msconfig. It also has other links that include information of some of the programs that you might see in the startup window of Msconfig.

http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_xp.html

NOTE:
There's is a "Disable all" button under the startup tab. But I wouldn't suggest using that initially. It is better to uncheck them one at a time so you can see what is causing the issue.
Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.
Thanks

Have you tried using msconfig to see if it is listed under startup programs? If it is listed you can uncheck it and it will no longer load at start up.

What you need is a software that uninstall files from the registry, which will remove all lingering dll's etc. I normally use this one.

Your Uninstaller ver2008

The setup file was stored on a network, it wasn't on your computer and now its trying to get it and it can't find it. you will have to get a copy of the file to your computer and then when it asks or the pop up comes you need to direct it to the file you got.

Reinstall Sonic MyDVD from the Application Recovery. A lot of HP computers have done this or produced that constant pop up.

If that doesn't work, go to:

Start > Run and type in msconfig in the box.
Then click the Startup tab and uncheck the box beside DMA (digital media archive)
Click Apply then Close. Reboot when prompted and you shouldn't get that annoying pop up any longer.

If you don't even use the Sonic MyDvD program on the computer, just uninstall Sonic completely from Add/Remove.
