Bad grounds on the power supply are common on these TVs. The power supply will have the flyback transformer. Resolder the flyback, horizontal driver transformer, power resistors etc. Check and study the vertical IC and see if the pins will need resoldering as well. Inspect the small board that is connected to the CRT, and solder this, as necessary. This is a good start for repair, thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

When i turn the tv on i hear a static sound and then the tv shuts off automaticlly each time

The flyback needing replacement is the most likely cause. You can get replacement flybacks for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com the flybacks come with installation instructions on CD.

The flyback is going out and the CP150 capacitor is almost certainly failing as well. You can get the replacement Flyback number 259296 and the CP150 Capacitor at the following link and they provide step by step instructions with pictures so you can easially do the repair yourself. Here's the link.

A common cause is a failure in the horizontal output stage. I have had a defective flyback transformer cause this.

Also, when the flyback fails it sometimes takes out the horizontal output transistor and some other parts with it. It is possible that the power supply has some damage from the failure.

I have sound but no opicture

When you replaced the flyback the new flyback is shipped with the screen and focus controls set at minimum. These are the 2 controls on the flyback itself. Turn the set on and let it warm up a minute, then slowly turn up the screen (bottom) control with a small flat-head screwdriver. When the picture is around normal brightness, adjust the focus (top) control until the picture is nice and sharp. Then, turn the brightness and contrast all the way down and set the screen control until you can just see the picture, just above the point where the picture vanishes. Reset the brightness and contrast settings and your picture will be back to perfect.
