Question about Intel Motherboard

Intel Desktop Board D865GBF starts up as soon as I turn on the UPS

I have updated the bios and checked the settings in bios to make sure they are correct and made sure the connections where correct on the header where the power button connects. I have checked the battery on the board to make sure it is good condition and still it powers up when I turn on the UPS without touching the power button on the tower. I have now rigged up another power switch and still have the same problem when I turn on the UPS. When I shut down the computer and don`t turn off the UPS it is fine I can restart using the power button no problem. You have any other suggestions?

What do you mean revert the switch?

  • Flyer933 Apr 06, 2008

OK. I did that and got same problem. I don`t have another power supply to check to see if that could be the problem but I doubt that it is it anyway. Thanks for your input, You got any other ideas? Iam fresh out.

not switch flayer2 i said switch connection

From front panel the two wires goes (from front panel power switch to your main board). ok.. just inter change these two wires connections. Suppose you have two wires for panel switch one white and other green and you have connected white to PIN1 and green to PIN2 on the board.

Now try to connect white to PIN2 and green to PIN1.

I am not able to install sound driver. when i check in bios settings there is no sound option for disable and enable.

check under onboard chip. but if you motherboard doesn't have sound device most likely there is no option on it, if you plug a soundcard into your motherboard it will detect itself as your windows starts. there install the driver.
