HI,

Here is the solution:
leave the USB plugged in then turn off your computer and
back on. Seems like it recognizes it at that point. Once you unplug your device you have to do the same routine to get it to recognize it again. It will recognize it as "removable disk F"

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to accept the solution as fixya.

When it says that it means the device that you have plugged into your usb port. More than likely if your wanting to download FROM your computer to the camera then the computer is seeing the computer as "removable disk F".

Tension not responding to the thread tension dial and the stitching doesn't meet in the middle and is not secure. I'm using a Pfaff Ambition Essential.

Install a brand new needle.

Remove all the top thread from the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning (this insures the thread is completely seated in the tension disk). Verify the thread path is correct.

Set the top tension to the midway point (the factory standard), but you may need to tweak it because every machine differs.

I bought a janome 300e .ive purchased designs and have downloaded to my computer. I've transferred them to a disk. . On the computer it says that the designs were transferred.

Check that the designs are not in a folder on the disk. Your sewing machine may need to open that folder before the designs can be found.

Also, check to make sure the OS software on your computer is compatible with your sewing machine. Some sewing machines use Windows 7 or even earlier versions, whereas most new computers now have Windows 8 or 10.

My PE770 machine sews about 20 stitches and then tops and says check thread and rethread.

Could very well be a speck of lint, dust, or something else on the thread sensor. However, 20 stitches of trouble-free sewing before an issue arises would suggest something with the thread feed, tension, etc. Just some ideas to try... Have you removed the thread completely, RAISED the presser foot, and re-threaded from the beginning? Check that the thread is not hanging up somewhere, ie on the slit on the thread spool, or nick or burr somewhere in the thread path? Changed needle? Changed thread brands? Could be a faulty tension disk.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Is it the foot pedal that you want to remove or is there a problem with it? Exactly what is the problem you're having?

Intermittent floppy disk drive for Husqvarna Viking Designer 1

These 3.5-inch floppy disk drives are never produced by the manufacturer of the device, but by one of a few floppy disk drive manufacturers (usually Sony) and as such, should your disk drive start to fail, you may be able to disassemble the case of the Viking Designer 1, remove the floppy drive, and insert another standard floppy salvaged from a tower-type PC, thus fixing the problem.
Since 3.5-in. floppy drives are becoming more and more scarce in modern computers (in favor of CD-RW drives) you may have a obsolete tower computer (remember Windows 98?) in your basement (or your friend's basement/yard sale/flea market/www.Craigslist.org/www.eBay.com) that could supply a useable FDD (floppy disk drive).

Where do i fix the tension at? i understand there is a top and bottom but i just dont understand. The thread keeps getting bunched up. It sews good for a bit then it just bunches up and i dont know what...

why dont you visit this website and read up some of the general info on sewing machines, should help you get started.

http://sewing.about.com/od/sewingmachineindex/bb/sewingmachines.htm

Usually you should only need to adjust the top tension a little bit for different fabrics but generally it should be fine on 5. Bottom tension is set by a little screw on the bobbin case (if yours is a removable front loading type) or sometimes a little dial if fixed horizontal bobbin case design. If machine has been set up correctly from new then bottom tension should not need to be touched at all.

It sounds more like your machine is not threaded properly, causing the thread bunching up to occur. If you don't have a manual you may find a threading diagram at www.sewusa.com or www.singerco.com, the Singer website has instruction manuals for download free for many models.

It sounds like you may be a beginner sewer, in which case, I highly recommend taking a few classes to learn how to best utilise your machine and save lots of frustration too.

I bought a reader /writer for my husk. Platinum 955E. Now I have changed my computer and have lost the disc that is neded to install the program. I did register the reader/writer..but of course can't...

Have you tried asking your Husqvarna dealer to help you out? They very likely would have the software available. Another place to try might be an online group specializing in Husqvarna embroidery machines e.g. Yahoo Groups. One of the members there might be able to assist you with a spare copy of the software disk.
I can understand how frustrating these sorts of things can be. I've owned Husqvarna embroidery machines and software for about 15 years now and have experienced a few problems. However, be assured that other brands are not without their share of problems too. Husqvarna did make using their products somewhat awkward in those early years of embroidery machines, wanting to protect their property from being pirated and having to use the reader/writer and associated software was one of the prices to be paid. Technology has since moved on and these kinds of problems rarely occur these days. That's no comfort to you in your present predicament, I know, but your machine is a quality machine and worth getting it set up so it works for you the way it should. Good luck in sourcing a disk.

Downloading

The Designer 1 needs the design in an shv format in order to read it. The floppy disk for an older machine may be created using several different programs but the Husqvarna Viking module is known as Disk Manager. It is included with many of the HV software packages. With a newer USB Designer 1, the program is Disk Manager USB.
