Jvr error 102

If you get "JVM Error 102" when starting your Blackberry, read this before you wipe everything!!

I had spent hours searching for a solution to this problem (I even went to my service provider) and all I could find was that I would have to wipe the contents of my phone and start all over again -- tough luck if I didn't have backups for my contacts, appointments, program data, etc.

What it comes down to is that the JVM 102 error means that a .cod file on your phone seems to be corrupt, so the phone refuses to load it. Why wipe everything for one bad file? You might not need to!

Follow these steps:

Download JL_Cmder

Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable that came with it.

Run JL_Cmder and select option 2 (event log)

Scroll to the bottom of the log and look for "JVM Error 102." The line before it should tell you exactly what file is causing the error. It might look something like this. Save the file name; you will need it later.

Go to Start > Run, and type "cmd" then press Enter.

Change directory to the JL_Cmder installation folder.
e.g., type: cd "C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder\" and press enter

Type the following command to remove the offending file:

javaloader.exe -u erase -f FILENAME

where FILENAME is the name of the .cod file.

Disconnect your phone from your PC and restart it.

This might not be a permanent solution, but it should at least let you boot up your Blackberry so that you can back up all your data before reinstalling everything.

My droid incredible phone is stuck in the start up cycle. Help

have you downloaded any app closing software, i.e. advanced task killer, app killer, etc.? these will mess up your phone. if you have, you should remove said program, and if that does not help, you may need to sync your data for backup and wipe it clean. this should solve your problem.

My blackberry phone kept asking for the password and after that it just went blank and said it was gonna wipe out all the info on my phone. Now I can not turn my phone on cause it keeps saying reload...

Hi Eric, Your device has been reformatted. Unfortunately, you have lost all your data. We can get you back up and running though.
1) download and install JL CMDER from here. https://rs468cg.rapidshare.com/#!download'468l32'143028674'JL_Cmder_v1.9.0.zip'105'R~0 (I want to wait in the bottom right).
2) Make sure on your computer you have the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed. This can be downloaded from the BlackBerry website. (http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW)
3) Plug you device into the computer via USB cable - make sure desktop manager is closed.
4) Launch JL_Cmder and follow the on screen instructions: - Press any key - It does not lock with a password (n) - 4 for wipe - Y to continue - type BlackBerry - wait for the device to connect - it may take a few attempts, so just keep trying it.
5) Download the most recent BlackBerry OS - you can find it at this URL - http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads Make sure to select the right carrier.
6) Delete the following file - C:Program FilesCommon FilesResearch in MotionApploader endor.xml
7) With your BlackBerry plugged in, launch the desktop manager. Select Application Loader and install the OS using the prompts. It may take a long time for the first reboot.
If these instructions are not clear in any way please let me know! I would be happy to walk you through this process personally if you're not comfortable with any of the above steps! If you follow them all exactly, your device will work like it is brand new!
Best of luck! Alex

How to reformat this phone

The preferred method for removing IT policy is to update yourdevice to OS 4.5 or higher (if possible) and use JL_Cmder's "resettofactory" command or the resettofactory command that is included in Loader.exe that installs with Desktop Manager (or any BB OS) to remove ALL IT policy, Firewall restrictions and Application Permission settings. After you've upgraded to OS 4.5 or higher, simply backup the device using Desktop Manager, close Desktop Manager, then run JL_Cmder and execute the "resettofactory" command or if you don't have JL_Cmder, just do the following:

1. Go to Start >Run and type CMD (you can also find the command prompt in Programs >Accessories.)

A command box will open.

2. Type the following exactly including spaces: cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

You should now see that path followed by the cursor.

3. Now type: loader.exe/resettofactory

After using JL_Cmder or the cmd prompt method above, the device will do a security wipe of the device; (meaning wipe your data but leave the OS, DO NOT use the "Wipe" command in JL_Cmder) then reboot leaving the OS, 3rd party apps but no data AND, best of all, NO IT policy whatsoever. When you're done, simply restore your backupand you're good to go with no policy or locked firewall. thumbs_up.gif You can downgrade back to the old OS if you desire, too

I accidently put in the wrong password in my blackberry and it wiped out the phone, can you help reseting it?

What you can do is download this program here its called jl_cmder, it basically lets u take screenshots, reset the phone back to factory defaults which i think you need in this situation or you could wipe the phone out completely like getting rid of the operating system only use this if you must need to then you just go to rim's website and download your phone's latest operating system and install it using desktop manager anyways the program doesnt need instructions really its self explanitory so again you want to reset it back to factory defaults and if that doesnt work then go for the wipe I hope this helps. If you have any questions just reply back and Ill be happy to help you.

Cheers,
Kyle

My i changed d lock code on mu phone so many times i've mixed it up and forgotten it. Now i'm locked out of my phone, how do i get back in?

If you don't know your lock code, unfortunately, due to the security level of blackberries, the only way to get back in is to enter the wrong code in 10 times, then enter in "blackberry" The phone will wipe itself clean, deleting all your data, and then work again. The downside, is that the phone doesn't always do this wipe method correctly, and may come back on saying "JVM ERROR xxx. RESET" where xxx is some number. At that point, you will need to perform a low level install by plugging your storm into you computer, with blackberry desktop manager installed, open command prompt (start>run>cmd) and type the following.

cd\
cd program files\common files\Research in Motion\AppLoader
loader /NOJVM

Good luck.
