Hi, when i shut down my Laptop, it shuts down, the power light switches off at the front side of the laptop, but for some reason, the actual power button light and the email light stays on. To top off, because these two lights constantly stay on, the battery drains so fast.
Now, I have already disabled Vista's email application, and am not using any other email application. I also opened up the front cover and brushed away dust and checked for any touching cables in there. Unplugged the battery for a couple days and that didn't work.
I'm all out of ideas....
Do guys have any ideas that might help out????
Hoping that I'll be able to use it "on the go" again...

Step 1: Laptop computers can be wonderful devices, except when the need to troubleshoot arises. Acer laptops are no different. A quick way to fix many problems with an Acer laptop running Windows is to reset it to factory settings. Resetting your Acer laptop to factory settings can eliminate slow operation, registry problems, virus problems and spyware issues. What's more, a factory reset of your laptop may reduce the need for a full reinstallation of Windows.
Back up all necessary data to an external device such as a disk, flash drive or hard drive Make sure all programs are closed and shut down your Acer laptop. keithncp, Take battery to local shop to prove battery is good when a "dummy" resistive load is placed across terminals and measured voltage is within specification. If voltage falls off more than 1-2 volts, replace battery. 12fixlouie
What operating system are you using? When the power led continues to slowly blink, that means that the laptop is in standby mode and not fully shut down. In Vista, if you hit the power button on the laptop or the power button under the start button, it is configured to go to standby and not shut down. Make sure to hit the arrow all the way to the right and select shutdown from the list of dropdown options.
Did you get the battery checked? OR maybe it's an issue with the PowerJack connector on the motherboard...have it checked ASAP....
Also take out the battery and plug straight from the wall jack using the Adapter to ckeck if power is coming.
