Incorrect color when playing DVD

I have a Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System SC-HT700 connected to my TV. When I watch TV the color is okay but when I switch to playing a DVD everything is green. I have gone in to try and adjust the color but if I get the skintone correct then the background is brown. I have read the manual for the TV about adjusting but it doesn't really tell me anything. Can someone tell me what it is I might be doing wrong?

I originally was having trouble getting the DVD to play, I could get sound but no picture. With help from Fixya, I got it connected but I had to go purchase all new cables. At this point I am not sure which cable I need to move.I have looked at both the manual for the TV and the soundsystem and nothing makes sense. Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

All of my new cables are connected, that's how I was able to get the DVD player to work. I guess what I need to know is which cable will possibly correct the color. Do I need an optical digital audio cable? Optical seems like it might fix the picture.

I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks

I have to leave for a few hours but upon my return I'll give it a try and let you know. Not sure what PAL or NTSC mean. Thanks

Hello Mustang Cathy,
You have connection problem in Video with TV & Home Theater. This error comes mostly wrong combination of "Component Video" connections. Kindly check that one color pin must be connected with same color pin at other unit. Here is 2 pictures for further assistance. Hope problem will be solved and you will enjoy true color picture on tv.

    hey mustangcathy,,

you can move all the old cables and use the new ones.

just keep in mind to disconnect first the cable your going to take out and change with the new one ... so that you wont get lost when you take out all the cables all at once.

    follow up!

make use of color coding! you can try to change the ones with the same colors first so that you will remember.

    thanks.

    hey cathy,

thanks for the quick response, well if you do have the optical cable, you can try it out too. but im not 10/5 sure that this will bring back the color. but hey, if the cable is there, try it out. good luck!

but if you still haven't purchased the optical cable, lets make use of the other cables you already have there instead ok.

usually the color for video at the back of the dvd player is YELLOW right? have you checked it?

on the tv, have you checked if your using PAL? NTSC? this may also have something to do with how the movie will look like when it plays.

    post back...

I can't get surround sound when I want to watch a dvd. I need to know how to set it up properly. This is for a Panasonic Home Theater Audio System MODEL NO. SC-HT65

the wires are color coded, follow the color coding on the wires, and connect the wires to the proper color coded connectors on the back of the main unit or go to panasonic.com to get the manual online for that model

My surround sound will not work through the TV, only the DVD

If your tv and surround has an optical input/output.Then you can connect with an optical lead. This will then play the sound from whatever you are watching. You normaly select dig1 or input1 on the surround system.

How do i connect a panasonic theater system to asylvania tv

For best results either use an s-video connector and RCA Red/White for the audio. If no s-video available, use comp which means composite (Red,Blue, Green) so the truest color can go from one unit to the other. On the back of the theatre system, plug everything into "output", on the panasonic, input.

CONNECTING THE PANASONIC SC HT680 TO A SONY TRINITRON COLOR TV AND CABLE BOX

audio/video OUT from the cable box to the aux IN on the panasonic right? So you can see the output from the cable box but only sound from dvd. Are you changing the input on the tv when you go from watching the cable box to watching the DVD? the panasonic handles audio, but the video from each goes to two different inputs on the sony. I hope none of this sounds condescending.
