I have a Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System SC-HT700 connected to my TV. When I watch TV the color is okay but when I switch to playing a DVD everything is green. I have gone in to try and adjust the color but if I get the skintone correct then the background is brown. I have read the manual for the TV about adjusting but it doesn't really tell me anything. Can someone tell me what it is I might be doing wrong?
Hello Mustang Cathy,
You have connection problem in Video with TV & Home Theater. This error comes mostly wrong combination of "Component Video" connections. Kindly check that one color pin must be connected with same color pin at other unit. Here is 2 pictures for further assistance. Hope problem will be solved and you will enjoy true color picture on tv.
Have a good check to all interconnection cables or replace and see results.
You can alson download user and operation instruction HERE to get some help.
I think you have to do a carefull revision of your cable connections to well fitted and at correct position.

You might want to check the connections of your home theater going to your tv since when you play the tv, the color is fine. but when playing a dvd, the problems there...
try moving the your soundsystem speakers from the main and tv because there might be magnetism there too...
post back. im sure many experts has a say about your problem.
have you tried adjusting the tint? kindly check makleans post about the manual.
there is something about adjusting the tint. usually when say that the color is out, its usually the tint.
post back whenever you feel like it..
hey mustangcathy,,
you can move all the old cables and use the new ones.
just keep in mind to disconnect first the cable your going to take out and change with the new one ... so that you wont get lost when you take out all the cables all at once.
follow up!
make use of color coding! you can try to change the ones with the same colors first so that you will remember.
thanks.
hey cathy,
thanks for the quick response, well if you do have the optical cable, you can try it out too. but im not 10/5 sure that this will bring back the color. but hey, if the cable is there, try it out. good luck!
but if you still haven't purchased the optical cable, lets make use of the other cables you already have there instead ok.
usually the color for video at the back of the dvd player is YELLOW right? have you checked it?
on the tv, have you checked if your using PAL? NTSC? this may also have something to do with how the movie will look like when it plays.
post back...
if in any case i had been able to assist you in fixing your problem...kindly rate me ok. thanks a bunch!
sure!
anyway, about PAL, NTSC and SECAM... its about the type of tv setting for your tv...

I originally was having trouble getting the DVD to play, I could get sound but no picture. With help from Fixya, I got it connected but I had to go purchase all new cables. At this point I am not sure which cable I need to move.I have looked at both the manual for the TV and the soundsystem and nothing makes sense. Thanks for whatever help you can give me.
All of my new cables are connected, that's how I was able to get the DVD player to work. I guess what I need to know is which cable will possibly correct the color. Do I need an optical digital audio cable? Optical seems like it might fix the picture.
I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks
I have to leave for a few hours but upon my return I'll give it a try and let you know. Not sure what PAL or NTSC mean. Thanks
