Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

1 Answer

Keyboard I have a Pacer Aspire 5100 series and every since I plugged in a USB port controller to play a game the keyboard hasn't worked. After playing the game I closed the computer without turning it off and had to take care of my son. When I returned I opened the computer back up and the log in screen never came up. Ever since this has occurred it's not allowing me to use my keyboard to do anything. When the screen saver comes up I'm not even able to turn it off by using the mouse pad. If you have any solutions please offer. Anything is better than nothing.

What happens when you unplug the game controller? Does the keyboard function return?

Also, can you please specify the operating system being used.

Maybe a driver issue.... if possible, attempt to find the keyboard drivers for it again... might have to do it from a different computer.

USB not working

If none of your USB ports work, there could be a problem with your USB controllers. Uninstall the USB controllers via Control Panel - System ... and reboot your laptop. They will reinstall upon bootup. Good luck.

Acer Aspire 5100 Problem , Keyboard not working even you plug another one on USB port , USB port also not working while the notebook is on and full charge

Take a look in Device Manager to make sure all devices are working correctly and that there are NO Yellow or Red marks.
If Yellow Exclimation is on the device, try reinstalling the driver for that device.
If Red X Mark is on the device, enable that device.
If this does not solve your issue, you should take your Laptop to your local computer repair shop.
Good Luck.

Keyboard and Mouse completely unresponsive

Hmm have you tried an external usb keyboard ? if it works all you need to do is restore your computer to a previous date , one in which they were working :)

If not you will need to take your computer in to a profession for them to reset and flash your board, and if that doesnt work you will require replacement parts..

BTW plugging the mp3 player into the usb should not have cause that issue :)
