Question about Dell E196FP 19" LCD Monitor

Dell E196FP TCo99 Monitor screen problems

When power switched on screen changes colour continually and off button won't work. When computer is then switched on message Auto adjust in progress shows on screen and then screen is fine but returns to colour changing when computer is switched off

    when i turned off my computer the monitor start changing colors red . green , blue , yellow, pink, greenish blue white and black and i dont know why

    Hi,
    I have an E196FP monitor. Once while the computer was off, themonitor went completely red (or even green). After that when turned on,the screen is too bright. Light colored backgrounds like grey or blueappear completely white - and white is very bright. Light colored textare almost invisible. I have connected the monitor with differentcables to three different computers with different graphic cards, butthe problem remains. But when I do auto-adjust or reset to factorydefault the monitor goes back to normal (nice colors and text) for afew seconds then goes back to the horrible state. I have played withbrightness and contrast, RGB - but no solution. Please do help me !!

The screen colour changing is apparently an auto test procedure on the monitor and was prompted by a fault with the monitor not automatically shutting down when the computer is shut down. The settings on the monitor have been adjusted to rectify this and the problem is now gone.

All power cords are hooked up as normal but i get nothing,just a black screen


a black screen is mostly due to power button being off if this step has been done try redoing all the connections on the back of the monitor also are you using the right input .

my guess would be that the monitor cable is loose in one end or its missing pins have you tried a different cable?

If that doesnt work try to find the correct driver for your monitor that matches your operating system.

E196FP monitor brightness controls do not work


Hi,
It an happen due to moisture, Temp solution unplug the cables and take it near a light to just give a mild heat and then reconnect.

Monitor is blank and the power light keeps flashing green.


When you switch on both Poota and Monitor, is there visual startup flashes or startup information showing on screen.

Make sure the monitor connect to rear of poota is located and firmly in place and properly screwed in?

I have been using the Dell E196FP screen without problems for three cnsequitive years, recently however, the screen can only be swicted off when the PC is still on, when the pC is switched off the screen...


Dutch Dell helpdesk is not quite client focussed, but their sales department normally easily finds the right technician for you

My dell e196fp lcd monitor has white lines


Dell had a problem with horizontal lines in some of their monitors a little while back. I would try contacting Dell Tech Support to see if your monitor is one of the one effected. I think they were replacing the monitors that had the problem, but I'm not completely sure.

Greenish screen


sometimes speaker magnets or any metallic device can cause this disturbance in this type of monitor. also, if you are using dvi, i would reset all video driver settings to default. this may correct this green tint you are seeing as well. reinstalling the monitor software could have a positive affect.

The problem is you don't have the display adapter driver installed (Video Card)

Dell E196FP lcd screen broke


Hi,
Generally the LCD screens are covered under 3 yr warranty. If you have purchased it as a seprate product from Dell. Otherwise it would have same warrnaty as your computer system.
You would end up sepnding more money in repairing the LCD , getting a new one would be a better proposition
