Acer Aspire 1640 laptop mouse pad does not work

Dear Sir:
My Acer recently locked up while using it and I had to do a poweroff to shut it down and then started it again. Whenit started I found that my mouse pad on the computer would not move thecursor. I shut offf the computer in the noraml waythrough Start several times, but the mouse pad still does not run thecursor.

I do have use of the computer since I have an external mouse I use atmy desk and this works fine as it is connected through the USB port.

I would appreciate any help you may have in reconnecting my mouse pad with the cursor.

DEAR SIR, I have a laptop of acer aspire 5500z series model no. fl50 i have problem that the internal mouse pad is mistake nd now not useble for me so pls ask me how that problem to be solve.

not 100% sure of your query but will have a go. If you have deleted the drivers for the mouse pad then you can get them here. If the mouse pad just doesn't work you can plug in a usb mouse and that will work.

Hello my little brother was playin like he was on the piano and the touch pad locked up i dont know how to unlock the touch pad

Re-boot the computer. If you can't use the mouse to shut down, hold the power button down until the computer shuts off - then re-apply power.

My mouse pad does not work nor does USB cable

Has the mouse lock been applied.
Press and hold the "FN" key and then press "F9" this should unlock the mouse and touch pad.
Failing that try updating the drivers for both using the device manager as I have found that recent updates have disabled my touch pad and I have rolled back the drivers to the previous ones.

about the shut down problem, is it take long time to shut down, if it is, you should check your harddrive.

  • shutdown and power off your acer laptop
  • then remove the battery out of laptop
  • connect the power and switch on ur laptop
  • let it boot to operating system
  • check if its working now? ur keyboard and mouse should be working now
  • you can now connect the battery and keep working.
  • if u want to power off, put ur laptop in hibernate more, rather than shut-down. so u dont have to reboot next time without battery.
  • if u restart or start ur laptop after a shutdown, make sure to remove the battery first

    i hope this will help.
