Question about Panasonic PT-47WX49 47" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Chassis number is DP820, also after sending the question to you I turned the tv on and no picture. I looked at all three guns and none were on. I can hear the high voltage come up and see the filaments lit. Also the sound works but takes about thirty seconds to come on with a whinning noise coming from the speakers before it comes on (no picture). Going back to the no picture, when I lost the picture I smelled something burning but was unable to identify where is was coming from. Thanks

That did the trick!!!!!!!! However you said that after replacing the ICs 7001 and 7002 that I need to go through the service menu and make adjustments. Can you walk me thru that step by step.

My convergence all three color are really bowed top bottom and really all over the screen, middle is better than the rest.

What is the problem to my Sony TV model KVXS29M65 Chassis BG-3S\51 that had a red tinted screen.Human skin tone looks reddish orange.Pse help.tq

I was not able to find any service information for that particular model. But it could be several things, first it may be that the picture tube has a short on the RED Cathode. If this is the case, toss it, if you could find a new picture tube it would likely cost more for the part than a new TV. Second it may be that the CRT Driver IC for the RED Cathode has shorted. This will be found on the CRT circuit board. There should be three of them, One for each gun, RED, GREEN and BLUE. Unfortunately like I said, I couldn't find the service manual for this model, so I can't give you a location number. They should be fairly inexpensive, so you could replace all three. You can find the part number printed on the face of the IC. Third it may be in the Chroma Circuit, which is also an IC, but again I cannot give you a location number. If your adept at repairing TV's and want to tackle this your self, invest in a service manual, or call one of your local repair shops. Maybe they can / will help with part numbers / location numbers etc.

It sounds like youre describing a RCA or GE tv with the ITC222 chassis. If so replace the flyback and CP150. If I had your model number and chassis number I could assist with the flybacks part number for you

No sound no picture

That is usually caused by the horizontal output cisrcuit or the flyback. Can you post the chassis number as RCA has to be diagnosed by chassis number.
