I'm not sure if any action has, or will be taken, since I see no submit button other than the one below. Hopefully, this will forward my problem for resolution. If not, please advise what else I am supposed to do.

I tried the above and then printed these pages. The first page came out fine but the subsequent pages had the same problem as before. Should I try the above solution again?

  • dunnricha1 Apr 09, 2008

I tried this solution of Basti and the first page of this e-mail text printed fine. However, I have the same problem with the subsequent pages and other documents I tested. What now?

It doesnt sound like a driver problem, its more like the head is out of alingment.

Try this

You can align the print cartridges from the Toolbox or the printer driver.

  1. Load plain paper into the input tray.
  2. Open the Toolbox: Click Start , point to Programs , hp deskjet 9600 series , and then click hp deskjet 9600 series Toolbox . Or open the printer driver.
  3. Click the Printer Services tab in the Toolbox or the Services tab in the printer driver.
  4. Click Align Print Cartridges and follow the onscreen instructions.
Your printer is canon, try to find something similiar, I dont have a canon and i dont know what are in the menus but look for aling print cardridges or similiar services.

I have a Canon PIXMA MP250, and it's printing black and faded lines alternatively. (one line black, one line faded black...), sometimes involve blue too.. Anyone can help?

First, are you running low on those ink colors? If not, possibly print cartridges need cleaning. If printer has separate print heads, they made need cleaning.
Lastly, print head(s) may need replacement.

I have a Canon pixma mp990 Recently it has stopped printing with the larger black ink cartridge that is meant for printing text (PGI-220BK) All the other cartridges print fine I was using a non-canon...

It looks to me that your non Canon cartridge has blocked the print head. I see this all the time. Remember the compatables are not pigment based but just watered down ink so you can get it to flow through a syringe into the cartridge. This however is the classic outcome of trying to save a few pennies on an expensive bit of kit!

When printing text in black ink, some lines of the text are missing. I've tried doing a deep cleaning 4 times and replaced the black ink cartridge. Have also tried unplugging unit, but that didnt help...

You didn't mention what printer was doing this. HP, Lexmark, Epson? It sounds like your print head is clogged with dried ink. If you can remove print head you can sit it on a damp cloth with the nozzle of the print head in contact with the damp cloth and hope that the cloth will draw out the dried ink.

My printer only prints pictures, no text.

Sounds like your black pigment (PGBK-5) cartridge has clogged up the printhead or similar.

You could try running a single Deep clean on the that colour alone (use Right click printer > printing preferences > maintenance tab > Deep Cleaning)

If that doesn't work you will probably need to either:
- clean the printhead (see this thread)
or
- replace the printhead/cartridge

Hope that helps.

Printer will not print black ink

Hi please try these steps:::

Right-click the printer icon, and then select 'Properties'.
2. Click the 'Maintenance' tab, and then click 'Deep Cleaning'.

maintdeep.jpg

3. Select 'All Colors', 'Black' or 'Color' for the print head to be cleaned.

allcolorsorblack.jpg

4. Read the message displayed, and then click 'OK'. The power lamp blinks and print head deep cleaning starts. (Do not perform any other operations until print head deep cleaning is complete. Print head deep cleaning takes about 1 minute.)

IF ABOVE STEPS DOESN'T WORK TRY THESE STEPS BELOW

Check ink tank vent hole The ink tank requires air to flow through it so ink can move from the reservoir to the print heads.

  1. Confirm there is no orange tape across the top of the ink tank

  2. If the orange tape is as shown in Figure (1), it is properly removed.

    ink_tank_tape.jpg

    *BCI-3's shown in this example.

  3. If the orange tape is as shown in Figure (2), remove the remaining tape to the level shown in Figure (1).

  4. Make sure each ink tank is snapped into the printer.

IF THESE STEPS DIDNOT WORK THEN YOUR PRINTER NEEDS REPAIR(You might need to change the printer head.)

Problem with Canon MP730

hi, i was having the exact same problem with my printer. and i also tried reinstalling the driver. after reading your post i decided to see if the printing problem occurred when i used the other colors, and it looks like it's only a problem with the black ink. i printed out a sheet with the text in red and another in blue and they came out perfectly. but the black grid that surrounded the blue text, still looked problematic.

so... that means that the black ink is the problem. i haven't tried putting in a new cartridge. did you say that your problem occurred after you put in a new black cartridge, or did you try putting in a new black cartridge and you still had the same problem?

Printing Problem

Look for ink clogged on the printer head. Run cleaning or deep cleaning after installing the new cartridge before printing. Take nozzle check print.
