I have basically the same problem. My vacuum hose IS NOT clogged, and while it was running, I pulled the hose off as if I were going to use the crevice tool, and put my hand over the end of the hose to check for suction,, and felt absolutely no suction power at all! Absolutely none, whatsoever.NOTHING.. I put the hose back on, (tightly), checked the roller brush by tipping the vacuum so that I could see visually if it was spinning, and yes, it was. But you could feel air coming out of the bottom. So I think instead of sucking anything up, it is doing just the opposite. Also, I noticed the filter cleaner indicator said it needed to be changed, (Green indicator turns red ) I only have had the chance to use this vacuum a few times, It's still rather new. (only a few weeks old) I'm not so sure that it would have to have the filter changed already.Seems aweful soon. And,thats not it.... Yes something else, It smells like somethings REALLY HOT!! I thought this vacuum was going to do the job better than the "cheaper" ones at the store, but I wonder now if one of those would have performed better and lasted longer. I am extremely frustrated with this, and I'd really appreciate if someone could help me solve this problem that I have.

I have been dealing with this exact same problem for a week and has been driving me crazy! I have done everything you just did and nothing worked. I just took the filter out that is underneath the canister and when I did it was clogged up real bad with tissue, styrofoam and hair. I reached in there and pulled as much out as I could then got needle nose pliers to reach in there to pull out the rest. Remember, it's behind the filter, not the filter itself. My vacuum works great now!!!

Is the brush roll turning" You said you replaced the roller, did you also replace the belt, if not you should have. Belts stretch after short use, and they get to a point where they won't turn the brush roll. Also the dirt inlet by the brush roll may be clogged. So you would have suction at the hose, but not frm the bottom section.

No suction in vaccum cleaner

Look for a clog somehere in the intake path, perhaps right at the top of the canister.

Nothing going into dirt canister

Is there suction at the hose? If not it is either blocked or the suction fan is broken. If there is, then there is a blockage in the pickup section, something is lodged across the channel after the brushes and before the place where the hose plugs in.

I think there is a safety switch to prevent it from running with the canister out so hard to check for suction at the top of the motor/suction fan. Make sure nothing is over that part under the canister too! If you can figure out how to bypass the safety switch (if there is one), you should have good suction where the canister sets on top of the motor base.

No suction. dirt goes into the filter instead of the canister

Check the motor and clean it properly. A very dirt motor will cause no suction or weak suction.
Be sure the motor is running on proper speed, a weak motor will cause a weak suction.
Thanks for asking.

Check for obstructions under the suction portion of the vacuum where the roller is located. If a belt is installed, check to see if its broken. Hope this helps.

When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.
You don't mention whether it's a canister or upright, but check all hoses and tube.
It can also be due to a full bag or clogged filter. Another cause could be a fault in the switch or wiring that turns on the power nozzle (only if it has a separate motor) but not the vacuum.
The fan blades could be broken or worn, which would allow the vacuum to run, but with no airflow/suction.
Or most costly, the motor is worn out and no longer working.

Nothing inn the canister after using, suctione working, bottom roller working,no air leaks from hoses. Also when running awhile it shuts off by itself, have to wait awhile to use again

I'm not sure what vacuum you have, but that sounds like a blockage to me. Thermal shut off kicks in, shutting the motor down, to prevent damage from overheating. After waiting like 1 hour it probably comes back on. Make sure hose, filters, bag (if any) is clean. All "airways" of vacuums need to be clear of any blockages, since airflow is what makes vacuums work.

Hi, my sanyo pulse 1500 bagless vacuum has very little suction.

If the vacuum will run without the hose attached, does the suction seem ok at the opening where the hose goes into? If so, then you have a clog in the hose or down below where the dirt is first sucked up. If suction is poor at the vacuum, then check the filters, they go bad after awhile.
