Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Do you have the latest firmware update? If not, either update it from your PS3 (at the top of the second tab from the left on the XMB), or go here, download the update from there and follow the instructions to install it on that page.
If that doesn't fix the problem;
Do you have the reciept from when you bought it? If so, take it back to wherever you bought it (if it wasn't from the internet) and ask if they'll exchange it. If you can't do this for whatever reason, call Sony up and ask them to replace it.
When you get another one, make sure there is at least 2 inches of space around the sides and the back of the PS3 when you've set it up to avoid overheating problems, keep it updated as best you can and be careful not to spill anything on it or drop it or anything similarly damaging.
