I have a 2 year old Sony Ericsson K550i phone which performed very well until I set it up for Bluetooth handsfree use in my car. Since then the microphone & ear piece have ceased to work & I can only take calls with the speaker switched on. Do you have a solution to my problem or could the Bluetooth handsfree setup not be the problem - maybe it was caused by something else, possibly a knock?

I have a k800i sony ericsson mobile n my problem is that its bluetooth aint workin.

How did you Set up Bluetooth on the Sony Ericsson K800i ?was it set up properly?Sony Ericsson K800i has Bluetooth technology, which can connect to other Bluetooth devices like handsfree headsets, or let you easily swap files like pictures, ringtones, videos or contacts with other people for free. It works by looking for other Bluetooth devices nearby and then connects to them to wirelessly transfer files. this is the steps to seeting up bluetooth on k800i sony ericsson
  • From the Menu screen, select Settings
  • Scroll across to the Connectivity tab and select Bluetooth
  • Scroll down to Phone Name and press select
  • Enter the new name for your K800i
  • Once you’ve done this, you can turn Bluetooth on to make you visible to other devices by following these steps
  • From the Menu screen, select Settings
  • Scroll across to the Connectivity tab and select Bluetooth
  • Select Turn On
To connect your Sony Ericsson K800i to a handsfree device, enter the Bluetooth menu screen and select Handsfree, Your phone will then look for a handsfree device to connect to. When it’s found it, select the device and enter the passcode if required

Remove phone from bluetooth handsfree car unit's memory

Sorry but what do you mean by?:- 'The car unit will not allow me to use the colour previously used' It should be the phone with the memory and the search facility for finding your car headset device, not the device looking for the phone. Once you have searched for new devices and found the headset with a different phone, the headset will not be able to connect with more than one device and should lose the old phone connection.
