Your phone runs on the symbian operating system which is the best but then pda's and smart phone are prone to virus.
it is advisable to get an anti-virus software on your phone since it looks as if you do use your bluetooth in receiving and sending information a lot.
some mobile virus such as carbir(carib) are notorious for blocking bluetooth conectivity so get some mobile phone anti-virus to prevent damage to your information and phone.
on the other hand is you do have one then makes sure it is up to date.

PC/PDA "connected" yet PC won't read PDA

try syncing through bluetooth, there could be a problem with the cradle. i have had an issue very similar to yours and had to do a soft reset on my pda. then set up your device to use a blue tooth connection( you may need to buy a bluetooth dongle for your pc).

Toshiba e755 pda

Hello I'm sorry to say but this looks like a corrupted ROM issue. The ROM memory stores your operating system and some parts of the firmware. If it becomes corrupted (various reasons) the PDA can't boot up the operating system, resulting in the strage situation you are experiencing. You can't connect it via active sync because it can't be detected as it can't boot anymore. It is very weird that this occured because of running an oficial upgrade. This leads me to suspect that there is something phisically rong with the wi-fi module on the pda's mainboard. You will need to take it to a service center to have it examined first. They will also put a specially made bootable sd card to reinstall the operating system is a way similar with computer windows instalation by booting from a cd. Most logically the wi-fi module has a problem and when trying to acces it by rewriting it's firmware (part of ROM) this resulted in the corruption of some ROM sectors. I'm sorry that this isn't a do-it-yourself type of fix, but it would be safest to ask a service center to examine your PDA's mainboard.

Can not figure out how to access the internet with ipaq.

Hi, If you haven't yet solved your problem, use an active sync connection throught bluetooth for example. Once the active sync is connected to the device, you can browse the internet using your PDA. For more information please post back.

Connect to the internet via

Once the Socketcom Bluetooth card is inserted in the Toshiba Pocket e570 PC and the software has been loaded, the following instructions will set up the Toshiba PDA & Ericsson T39 mobile phone to connect to the Internet. Click on the Bluetooth icon in the bottom right hand corner. Click on Get Connected! Select the device under My Bluetooth phone is: In this case the Ericsson T39. The following information gives details on how to change the name of the Mobile device. Once this has been read, click on Next. The phone now has to be made discoverable so that the PDA will detect it. To do this, use the down arrow on the phone to select Extras and then click on Yes. Scroll down to Bluetooth and Click on Yes. Select Make Discoverable and a message on the phone will appear saying that the phone is discoverable for the next 3 minutes. Click on Next on the PDA. The PDA will now look for a Bluetooth device(s). Once the mobile is detected the PDA will search for the Device Name of the mobile. Click on Select and the devices will not connect and create a partnership. The following Device Bonding window should appear to create a bond between the PDA and phone. Click on Next. To create the bond a passkey must be entered on the PDA. This may be a between a 4-16 digit code. N.B. We would advise that the code be kept to a numeric sequence as the keys contain more than one letter on them, i.e. for the letter L, the number 5 key will need to be depressed 3 times. Once the passkey is entered, click on the Reply button. On the mobile, click on Yes to accept the incoming pass and then enter the same passkey. Click on Yes again to confirm. If the two values are correct, a message will appear on the phone telling you that the devices are bonded. The PDA should now congratulate you on your connection. For Internet access via Bluetooth, please follow the steps outlined below. The above instructions only need to be carried out each time a connection is required. However, the instructions below only need to be setup once. Click on Start, then Settings from the drop down menu. Click on the Connections tab at the bottom of the screen followed by the Connections icon utility. In the first drop box labelled "When needed automatically connect to The Internet using these settings" select New. Under the General tab you will be prompted to give the new connection a name, e.g. Bluetooth. Select the modem "Bluetooth Phone" and click on Next Make sure that the fields for the boxes titled Country code and Area code, are empty. The next field requires the full telephone number, including STD code, you wish to dial, i.e. your ISP telephone number. Put this in and click on Next. The next page contains a time out clause if the PDA is unable to connect within a set time. By default this should be 120 seconds. Make sure the tick box for "Wait befo

"Communications Error 608"

If you put the Toshiba Pocket PC e740 in your USB Cradle you may receive a "Communication Error 608". This is not a serious error, it is just a false setting in the ActiveSync Program. Please follow these steps below to correct this problem: "Tap" on start and choose the ActiveSync program Then "tap" on "Tools" and choose "Options" in the ActiveSync Program Check under "Enable synchronization when cradled using" to see if the setting is on "USB" If it is set on "Bluetooth", please change it to "USB". Now you can close the application window Important: Please remove the Pocket PC from the cradle and then return it to the cradle. This activates the new setting Important to note: This above described issue occurs if you "tap" accidently on the Bluetooth Icon in the Program Group or activate Bluetooth of any other reason, the ActiveSync Option will be set to "Bluetooth" instead of "USB". This setting will cause the "error 608" if you put in the Pocket PC e740 in the Cradle and start to synchronize over USB.
