Code 28 driver for xp

Microsoft Help and Support says that "Code 28 (The drivers for this device are not installed)" appears when the Windows Sound System Compatible Driver for the Windows 2000 operating system is deleted upon the upgrade to Windows XP. It's possible to repair this code.

Click on "Start." On the "Start" menu, click on "Control Panel." In the "Control Panel" folder, click on "Performance and Maintenance." Click on the "System" folder in the "Performance and Maintenance" folder. Click on the tab titled "Hardware." Click on the box that says "Device Manager." Click on "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers." Right-click on the device that prompts Windows XP to display Code 28 (it should be Windows Sound System Compatible Driver, also called the WDM driver). A drop-down menu will appear. Click on "Update" and an Update Wizard will guide you through the installation of a new device driver, which should stop Code 28 from appearing on Windows XP.

Computer has no volume

I'm assuming that you are installing Windows XP onto a computer. If you are getting no sound you are probably missing the sound drivers for your computer. Post the specifications or model number of your computer on this website or you can visit the computer website (example dell.com , hp.com) and download the drivers yourself. They are usually located in the support section of the website, under your computer model number. Make sure it is for Windows XP.

Bring up Microsoft Help off your stat menu or programs on your start menu. Type in "download drivers for windos xp". You will either be allowed to download free or will be given instructions, which you should print, on how to install the drivers.

Free downloading sound card drivers

Hello,

All you need to do is to install a software named Driver Magic and you will be fine,

You can get the trial from here

http://www.topshareware.com/DriverMAGIC-Pro-download-8543.htm

This will check for all missing drivers on your machine and then download then automatically for installation.

Hope this works,
