The picture went out on my Polaroid 42" LCD TV bought a couple of years ago but we still have sound. Took to a technician and he says it's the inverter board but he's having trouble getting a new one. Any ideas? I saw one on eBay but don't know if that's a good idea.

SOURCE: polaroid 42" lcd has a distinctive verticle red line

you need to return the set where you purchased it, my humble opinion is replace it with a name brand that you know makes tv`s
for a living, ie; sony , hitachi, etc. when those "off" brands break there are many that have no access to service manuals or parts in this country, yours is one of them.

SOURCE: bought Niko 32 LCD HDTV last year Sound is good No picture.

Changing the inverter board shouldn't be hard. It's just the matter of taking things apart and unplugging some wires to it.
There shouldn't be anything you would have to solder in.
I'm sure he gave you the price of the whole inverter board itself. Not the small transformer inverter on the board.

SOURCE: Screen goes black after couple seconds on my Polaroid 42" LCD

I had a TLX-4240B 42" Polaroid LCD TV and the screen would go black after about 10 minutes. There was still sound. I removed the two covers exposing the circuit boards behind the TV. I powered up the TV and waited for the screen to go black (I was going to start trying to pinpoint where the issue was with my trusting meter) then noticed a red light would come on when the screen would go black. there were 4 mini switches right above the red light. I switched the one that said burn and the TV has been working great since. good luck and let me know!

Everytime i turn on my lcd tv it turns on and the pictur goes off

there are flourescent tubes inside that can be replaced, they help to alluminate the screen. There are these other boards inside that can malfunction too, best to take the unit to a technician.

No picture or sound just three low beeps

Hi guzzman2,

I have the same exact TV as you and it has the same problem. I took the whole tv apart and checked the obvious things i.e. fuse, loose board, etc. etc. Bottom line - it looks like the flyback transformer needs replacment This is what provides the picture tube with power/voltage, etc. The part itself is ~200.00 and the labor will be about $150.00 - $200.00. Thats what you would pay if its only the transformer. Usually when the transformer goes, it takes other components along with it. I am bringing my set to the recycling center since It's not worth fixing. Went to Costco and bought a 42" LCD tv for less than 900.00. Instead of spending upwards of $300.00-400.00 to fix a 13 yr old standard tv, go for the gusto and upgrade to High Defination TV with the appropriate Cable company box and you'll never regret it!!!!
What a wake up call to watch TV now!!!!!!!!! Good luck to you...

Polaroid 32" lcd tv

Lori
Take it back... That is either the digital board or the logic main board and that's way too soon for you to be having those problems.. Heck a Poloroid usually lasts a couple of years before having these type of severe problems, and even that is sooner than most major brands... You still have warranty - I STRONGLY recommend you take it back..

Pink screen

When the "pink screen" happens on my Polaroid FLM-1911 TV, I unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, wait 30 seconds, and replug it. This fixes the problem.
