I think u r pen drive comtain viruses like smss.exe,
killer.exe etc
do u have bootable cd (xp or any os)
put in cd rom
then boot from cd then u find hard dsik explorer
there u selece u  r flash drive
delete the drive n create new drive
the virus can be deleted u  flash drive can formatted

                          (or)
use kaspersky latest verstion or anti-vir (or) norton antivirus
then scan u  r pc n remove all viruses frm u  r pc
download it frm
www.filehippo.com

Windows unable to complete format.

How did you format the computer, inside windows or outside?
Try this change the boot sequence from the BIOS instead of booting first to HD make your optical drive as first boot. After changing the boos sequence insert the windows vista disk to the drive then restart the computer. When it boots it will ask you to press any key to boot to CD/DVD. Keep tapping on space bar. If you notice it will say windows copying files. When copying files completed we isolated the problem dvd rom is fine and the vista installer is fine as well.
If the problem only started in or during attempting to format you HDD might causes the problem.

Windows was unable to format my flash disk

It seems that the card is bad. Try to format the card on a different machine to rule out your Windows formatter.

System unable to find hard disk

What kind of laptop do you have? how mutch memory do u have?
XP can be very very hard to instal on old laptops with smal memorys.
Download the program "memtest from http://www.memtest.org and check your memosticks
Did u change the settings so your laptop starts from cd-driver and not from your harddisk?

You should been able to start the instalation even if u cant complete it if you are short of memory

Averatec USB ports

Hi, A couple of things you can try: 1. In your Device Manager, un-install all USB instances then reboot. Win XP will auto detect and auto install back the USB drivers; 2. On reboot, again in your Device Manager, all instances of USB Root HUB, right click, click on Properties, Power Management tab, un-check "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." 3. Download, install and use to format flash drives the HP Drive Key Boot Utility (cp006049.exe) available at http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23839.html If for some reason none of the above will for you, you may need to install an external/powered multi-port USB 2.0 Hub. Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
