I don't have the access point network key. How do I continue to install my new MP640R unit to my in home wireless network?

Plug the router into your pc with an ethernet cable ( unless you can log onto the router wirelessly ), log onto the router and set/change your network key.
If you are unsure how, just google youe router and set up.
When you have your network key from the router you can set your wireless printer up

Hello I have a D-Link DR615 wireless issue. it automatic set to FREE wireless. why?I used to have password and also assigned a name for it. but now the Assigned name is NOT in the wireless network, instead...

Hello,

It seems as though your router was reset to the default settings.
In this case, you need to connect to the "DLINK" network and reconfigure the router.

If you have the disk, you can use that to run the setup, or you can log onto the router itself and configure the settings.

To log onto the router, open a internet window and type in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
This will log you into the router.
Now simply select "wireless" and then wireles security and you should be able to set up the password again.

Thanks,

Pat

I have forgotten the security password.

do you know how to log onto the router? Using a wired connection log onto the router (type 192.168.1.1 or similar ip into your internet browser address bar) logon to the router and change the passphrase. If all else fails use the factory reset button to change things back to factory default.

instructions should be available on the manufacturers website if you no longer have the manual

Password not responding

Which password ?
The one for logging onto windows
Or
the one to get into bios setup

If its the Windows one you could try pressing F8 whilst it is booting and then select the administrator account to log on with. See link for details

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305

quite often the admin is left without a password

If its the bios then that is a different matter and may involve a small amount of dismantling of the laptop

Now if its wireless then you need to log onto your router to get that and the manual will have the details you need if its the router log on password the you will have to reset the router, Again the instructions for this are in your manual.

If you don't have the manual for your router or laptop get a copy by downloading it from the manufacturer web site.

D-Link router wont let me go onto the net with the wirless router

At the bottom right hand corner of your screen, you have a wireless connection icon. right click and view available wireless network...if you see your network there. connect to that network, if secured, then call d-link to verfiy what is your network key. if it is unsecure then you can log on right away.

if that wont allow you to connect then upgrade firmware of router.
