Question about Sony Ericsson Walkman W810i Cellular Phone

W810 walkman problem

I have a 4gb card in the phone with approx 1800 songs on it. I can see all of the songs in the file manager, but in the walkman I cannot see them all. Is this due to a limit on the number of songs the walkman can handle?

Thanks

I am using w200 with 1GB M2.There is some unwanted noice while playing songs also sometimes playback fails.

dear sir,

this is not a big issue....what happened is,you have deleted few music files from your file manager and it is not being deleted from the playlist, actually the file is not in your mobile or memory card, but the file name is there in the playlist,so when you play music, the files which are present in the mobile is being played and the files which are not there when being played gives you the playblack failed code....

just go to the walkman menu,go to playlist and delete the files which are not in your mobile.....thank you for using fixya.

take care

Putting music on my sd card

If it is in fact an SD card, there is a small switch on the side of the card. It will turn it from write protected to writable. Let me know if you still have problems.

Problem downloading onto memory card

Same thing here. I put the card into the phone and then hooked phone up to the computer and it recognized it. If you're downloading songs for use as a walkman, the default setting for the card will work. I got the card to make my own ringtones and had to set it to 'mass storage' in order to drag my tones in. I found the program for downloading songs directly to the phone too confusing for me.

Walkman phone

Try following these steps : Turn on your phone..
Put the phone in "mass storage " mode (not data storage) then..and ONLY then.. plug in the USB cord that came with your phone. Now..Open file manager - there will be two extra files there one for the phone and one for the card .. even if you didn't put in a card.. Now you can drag and drop MPG's and JPG(wallpaper) files into your phone and Vise versa . Hope thats fix's ya :)

CANNOT PLAY DOWNLOADED SONGS

What format are they? I don't think the Walkman will play M4a (iPod) files. You're best-off with Mp3 files at a bit-rate of 128mbps or 192mbps. I'm not sure if it can handle "lossless" quality music files.

The walkman malfunctioned!!! please help!!!

Hi there, one of the problems you have is that there is not much you can access from via your phone, so often the easiest (although not speediest) solution is to re-upload the songs. Have you tried adding another song, playing it, and seeing if that song will play successfully? If it does, then I would suggest deleting the other songs, and uploading them to your phone again. If this is not possible (because you downloaded them straight from mobile network), upload them to a PC and see if the songs will play - if they do, save them to PC, reformat your card (my computer -> right click on card name -> format) and then put them back on your phone. Unfortunately if they wont play on PC either, the chances are they have been corrupted and you may have to contact your download source for a refund or new copies. If after trying these options you are still stuck, try a) a mates memory card in your phone, and b) your memory card in a mates phone. If a works and b doesnt, contact your memory card supplier. If b works and a doesnt, then contact your phone manufacturer. Hope this helps and isnt too confusing - Chris.
