You didnt tell us what printer you run ;-)

you have to go to the homepage of your printer manufacturer and check if there are vista compatible drivers avaiable.

I want driver of shro am-400 for win vista plz do needfull

Hi there,

Well sorrsy to say but there is no win vista driver's for this model, anyway there is a way to use windows xp drivers in windows vista, follow the below steps -
1. Click the "Start" menu in the lower left-hand corner of the Windows Vista screen.
2. Select "Run" from the Start menu.
3. Type "msconfic" in the Run box. Click "OK." A window will appear that lists all of the programs scheduled to run when Windows Vista is turned on. Uncheck all unessential software programs. Be sure to leave critical programs checked, such as antivirus and firewall programs. Click "OK."
4. Click the "Start" menu and select "Restart" to reboot the computer.
5. Open "My Computer" (located in the Start menu or on the Vista desktop).
6. Double-click the "C:\\" drive. Find the installation directory for the Windows XP program or device that you wish to run in Windows Vista. The installation directory is usually given the name of the program, the program's manufacturer, or a shortened version of either of these two options.
7. Right-click the program or driver. Select the "Properties" option in the pop-up menu that appears.
8. Click the "Compatibility" tab in the window that appears. Check the box next to the heading that reads, "Run this program in compatibility mode." In the drop-down menu, select "Windows XP." Click "OK" to close the window. The program or driver will now operate in Windows Vista in Windows XP compatibility mode, allowing the driver to function as it did in Windows XP. Note that the Windows XP driver will not be able to take advantage of any of the new features in Windows Vista while it is running in compatibility mode. We recently purchased a new computer with Microsoft Vista. The salesman informed us that our Lexmark X5470 Series printer was not compatible with Vista. We like our 5470 Printer. Is there an upgrade that...

I would say the salesman just wanted to sell you a printer
Operating Systems Supported Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Apple Mac OS X (10.3.0-10.3.x)
Apple Mac OS X (10.4.0-10.4.x)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64
Microsoft Windows Vista
Microsoft Windows Vista x64

Go here

http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi

and select the operating system you are using and download the driver for it. install the driver and it should work fine.

Robert

Please take a moment to rate this solution... thanks

My operating system is Windows Vista and im actually having problems to install the printer on my laptop as the divers are not compatible. can you plz help me . thanks a lot

Well, here's the problem.

Lexmark has compatibility lists of all their printers with various OS's and the Z25 IS on the Windows XP
List with a downloadable driver.

Here's the bad news:

Lexmark's compatibility list for Windows Vista does NOT include the Z25.

Sorry, but they simply have not written a driver for your printer that works with Vista.

I cannot get the software to work for my 820 on my new vista. Any suggestions

If you read the link, you will see vista already have a driver built in http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supAdvice.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&noteoid=86150&type=highlights

the statement below was cut from the Epson website -

Drivers are included with Windows Vista. Just connect your Epson product to your computer and follow the on-screen instructions that Windows Vista displays to guide you through driver installation.

Obviously you have already tried to without success or else you would not be posting to this site. The answer is two-fold unfortunately. Sometimes manufactures cannot keep up with tech changes in OS and there is a driver update lag. If you did try to no avail, it means the install disc/driver is not updated enough to be compatable with vista. You have two choices. Run xp on your laptop instead of vista or go to Hewlett Packard web sit (google it) and go to download section. Download the update driver that is vista compatable if there is one available. Now, install the printer on you laptop using this new driver. Back it up on disc to avoid losing it and having to download it again.
