Hi,

HERE ARE FEW TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS YOU CAN TRY:

ONE: Check the line cord. Wiggle both ends near the molded part.
TWO:Do a hard reset by unpluging all the cords for 4hrs and then plug it back.
THREE:Go into the OSD and make sure the settings are correct for the mode you are using it

FOUR:The whacking test is to just bang or smack the set with your hand on the back, side, top, etc., to see if there are loose connections or cold solder joints inside that are acting up. If so, the banging should knock them back to normal and the set should restore. You might have to use some creative banging and some have had to put a book or magazine under one corner to torque the chassis enough to get it to work reliably.

After the above you still have the green screen you may need a service tech. I have never seen service on a large set of this kind to be less than $200; usually more. In this case, if the reset and double checking all the function settings does not solve the problem I suspect it is a video driver problem. I would expect the service charge to be on the low side or in the $250 area.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to accept the solution as fixya.

Try to disconnect cables from the back of tv except the power cable, turn it back on. if issue persist there is a problem with the bulb, try reseating bulb/lamp. then power it back on.

    try this as well

Get into the service menu of the TV by pressing both the + and - buttons
under the front flap of the TV and switch the TV on at the same time (not
from standby but cold). Keep the 2 buttons pressed until the service menu
shows up and then press 'initialize Eprom' at the initial menu, this should
reset anything untoward back to factory levels.

Check and make sure your fans are working and there is sufficiant cooling to the back of the set. Sounds like it is overheating and going into protection mode.

Picture changes focus/sharpness instantly and then recorrects

Hi

You can try and get more infornation for me.

Go into the the menu by pressing the WEGA GATE button on the remote. In the sub menu of picture adjustment switch the DRC-MF setting to off. It should read normal.

See if this stoppes your focus problem.

If it changes let me know for further directions.

TV turn off itself and won't turn on

Sounds almost like you have a voltage missing on the power supply board. if its a missing voltage a service manual and a multi meter should help ya find whats missing But a shop repair on a set like this could cost a bit as anything over 27" is a little costoly to fix these days. Only way to see is call and say to your self How old is the set? is it the set you really like do you wanna spend 150 to 225 to repair? it up to you. Good Luck
