I have a Samsung CLP300. I unfortunately bought the thing off ebay, as new, or some I'm told. Its was printing fine to start with but after I left it on over night when I came back to it I could hear a intermittent beeping / chirping.
Tried reinstalling drivers etc however at this stage I new it was a hardware problem anyway.
I noticed that whn I opened the case however it the LED panel turned on, the computer recognised it and the beeping stopped. But closing the cover dropped the power once more and the beeping stopped, with the computer once again not recognising it.
So I approached Samsung in the US and in the UK (am based in the UK) but without solution. Normally faults are reported on the LED panel covering things like jams, toner, cover open etc.
So in vain I started to disassemble, with the aid of a service manual. I found where the sound was coming from, it was the Power Module positioned front left of the main board making the sound, from what looks like some sort of capacitor?
I have found someone that can supply a new power module and it seems easy enough to replace but wanted to check if anyone else had come across the problem first before I put money into a problem which may not yield a solution. After all I only paid so much for it.

The cartridge dried out and the moisture/liquid sensor will no longer detect new fillings though the layer. A good refill needs to be done before the ink is out. These are tedious little critters. Try the nozzle cleaning procedure several times(through your printer's software. Take out the cartridge and set the jets on a cotton ball soaked liberally with cleaning fluid. Run the nozzle cleaning procedure again.

There are two different print engines used in the CLP-300. One for
2006, and a different one starting in 2007. I have the older 2006
printer, and the current firmware is only for the new 2007+ print
I talked to Samsung support here in Korea and fixed the
problem. They sent me to their special tech support website at
www.1479.co.kr (only in Korean) and I was able to download an older
version of the firmware which restored my printing ability.
the two files at the top, then extract the archive. Drag-n-drop the
correct firmware file onto "usblist2.exe" and the printer will be
flashed with the firmware (must be connected via USB if you're using
the CLP-300N model).
That sounds like a problem with your printer driver to me. If the wrong driver is used, then print codes that the other device uses will not be interpreted correctly by your Laserjet 4M Plus, which will cause it to beep. Check the driver on your computer to make sure that you are using one designed for any of the following:
HP Laserjet 4 HP Laserjet 4+ HP Laserjet 4M HP Laserjet 4M Plus
(Either the symbol "+" or the word "Plus" may be used but most commonly the + is the non-Postscript version and the word is used with the Postscript version. Just as an FYI, the only two differences between the M and non-M versions are the ability to speak Appletalk and the addition of the Postscript module, which is in one of the RAM expansion slots.)
