Display goes haywire...

I have a Dell Inspiron B130 PC and all of a sudden the display screen seems to be acting up. It's like the color is washed out or these lines will appear across the screen. When adjust the screen it goes back to normal until I let go so I'm guessing something is loose. Does anyone know the best and cheapest solution?

Hi,
The easiest solution is remove the hinge cover and check if the LCD cable got cut.
http://tinyurl.com/oyrzt
follow the following instructions to replace display assembly
http://tinyurl.com/hbk5x
You can also run diagnostics.. power on and press F12 on dell logo slowly 5 times
Select diagnostics and follow on screen instructions. If the LCD fails its time to replace the same.

Hello, it seems like your display settings are incorrect. Right click on the desktop, and go to display properties. Then go to settings and adjust the screen resolution to a larger size.

My screen on the laptop just goes black all of a sudden. It also would go dim or flicker occasionally, kinda like a loose plug. HELP

what i can suggest is try a known good monitor, if its ok on the external monitor - try reseating the lcd/display cable refer to instructions @ http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1300/en/sm/display.htm#wp1105347
if still the same, lcd needs to be replaced.

My Dell Inspiron B130 screen screen glitch

Hello,
This could be a screen cable problem but it is normally a faulty screen even though it may look like a loose connection. Get a technician to check it for you.

All the best.

Display goes blank after about a hour after it is on.

Hi

Run a test on the system first and also update video and bios.

Drivers can be downloaded from www.support.dell.com

Running a test can be done by pressing FN+power button and turn on the system. Fn is the key found on the left lower side of the system
otherwise press F12 when you start and the system and see a dell logo, go to diagnostics and run a diags and let me know if you get any error messages

thank you

B130 Monitor Problem

Connect an external monitor at the back of your laptop and see if the display is fine. If the display is fine with the external monitor, it means to say that there's something wrong with your LCD's backlight. You may have to contact Dell Technical Support to check if your system is still under warranty.

Thanks! :)

Dell lcd display

if it is just half of the screen and the rest is black- you need a new screen. If it is half the screen all squished together (you can see the whole desktop) you need to reload the video driver
