Ok, mine its been fixed, main board replaced because of corrupt software. But still unable to update.

The unit saids that there is an update avaliable, you try to update your unit and it seats forever trying to download DSP firmware 1/4... it does not go any further.

DENON... we pay a lot of money for this unit we deserve SUPORT... the manual is **** the web is even worst.

AVOID THIS DENON S52, it is not finish and it is been abandon by Denon

Having the same problem with the locking up with load beep. This is my second unit, the display went on the first one. I have the latest firmware installed, which I guess is the problem with the locking. £500 notes for this and my £50 pure one sounds better.

There is a problem with the latest firmware available for the S-52. The firmware upgrade process went fine, but after the upgrade, my brand new S-52 would lock up randomly. Admittedly, it locked up once over 3-4 hours, so it does take some time to see, however when it did there was a load beep coming out of the speakers. Not exactly what you want to wake up to when you're going to sleep with the radio on sleep timer. I returned the unit and got a second unit and this time ran it continuously before upgrading it. No lockups! However some Rhapsody features are not functional without the firmware update and the wireless connection is less stable. After convincing myself the hardware was good, I upgraded the second unit. Within 4 hours of playback, it locked up again with the beep. They have a deadlock in their software or a heat issue with the new software - either way, I'm going to have to return the second unit. I can't have a $700 radio that locks up periodically - especially when I'm trying to sleep.

There may not be any facility to update the firmware for this model without taking to the service center. This model does not have any device input like SD card or internet connection that would enable download of firmware upgrade. The later Denon models have this capability.

You will have to consult the local Denon service center for advise.

Denon AVR-1912 firmware upgrade failed

I'm having the same problem, Denon has taken down the firmware upgrade for yours ( and mine) AVR-1912. My receiver is also stuck in the update fail loop. Supposedly they will have it back up, but I don't know the timeframe.

Lots of others are having the problem with the firmware upgrade. Go to

and that should help you out, though I can't say how much. I've gone as far as resetting the microprocessor, but it keeps trying to update, and then fails...

Unable to play pandora on Denon 1912

Check the Denon website. There is a notice for Pandora users. Pandora changed something and Denon products are blocked as of 11/30. They state that they are working on a fix and to check back after 12/6 for the update.

Denon dvd player and playing mp3

Check the user manual, is it able to play mp3 files? You've not mentioned the model number so, you could try going to the Denon Support pages:-

There you should be able to download a guide if needed and/or check whether there are any firmware upgrades to download for your player.

Firmware upgrade failure

Try this for the reset
First turn the unit off then
hold down the "Pure Direct" and the "Direct" buttons on the display at the same time. And while you are still holding them down turn the unit on with the power button on the display.
this should reset the microprocessor.

You will need to put all custom settings back in.

Let me know if this helps.
