Try a low format FAT 32 in windows with "HDD Low Format" app. Make sure your downloaded firmware has no CRC errors and put it in the root of your FAT 32 usb stick. Do a System Update from the Safe Mode in your PS3. Following this steps should do just fine. Write back to know how it works.

Tried to print using my MFC-685CW. Was told that my ink cartridge was empty. Put in a new cartridge (LC51BK). Was told that the cartridge container was now empty. What to do?

STEP 1: Verify the firmware version of your Brother machine:

a. Press the OK key 2 times.

b. Press the UP ARROW (+) key 5 times.

c. Press the OK key 2 times.

The firmware version will be displayed on the LCD.

- If the firmware version is 1.01 or 1.02, go to STEP 2: Update the firmware of your Brother machine.

- If the firmware version is 1.08 or above, go to STEP 4: Toner usage and yields.

STEP 2: Update the firmware of your Brother machine:

A firmware update tool is available that will allow you to update your Brother machine with the most recent version firmware by downloading updates over the Internet. The updated firmware will assist in optimizing toner usage.

The Brother printer driver must be installed and working properly prior to the update of the Brother machine. The firmware update tool also requires that you have Java installed on your computer. The firmware update tool will not work if Java is not installed. If you do not have Java installed or are not sure if it is installed on your computer, you may download Java from http://www.java.com.

To update the firmware, follow the instructions listed below:

DO NOT interrupt the process or turn off the machine once the update has begun. Doing so may corrupt the memory on the machine and may require the machine to be serviced in order to correct the issue.

1. Open an Internet web browser and go to http://welcome.solutions.brother.com

2. Select your country and language.

3. Type in the model of your machine or select it from the appropriate section (Ex: HL3070CW in the Color Printer section).

4. Select Downloads.

5. Select your OS and language for step 1 and 2 on the web site. Click the Search button.

6. The Firmware Update Tool will be listed at the bottom of the web page. Click Information & Download.

7. Click the Download button and I Accept if you accept the license agreement.

8. A dialog box appears with options for Run, Save, or Cancel. Select Run. You may also download the firmware update tool for later use by selecting Save.

I need to update the Belkin Router for Wildblue.net

From the user manual:
Updating the Firmware
From time to time, Belkin may release new versions of the Router’s
firmware. Firmware updates contain feature improvements and fixes to
problems that may have existed. When Belkin releases new firmware,
you can download the firmware from the Belkin update website and
update your Router’s firmware to the latest version.
(1)
Checking for a New Version of Firmware
The “Check Firmware” (1) button allows you to instantly check for a new
version of firmware. When you click the button, a new browser window
will appear informing you that either no new firmware is available or that
there is a new version available. If a new version is available, you will
have the option to download it.
Downloading a New Version of Firmware
If you click the “Check Firmware” button and a new version of firmware
is available, you will see a screen similar to the one below:
1. To download the new version of firmware, click “Download

2. A window will open that allows you to select the location where
you want to save the firmware file. Select a location. You can
name the file anything you want, or use the default name. Be
sure to locate the file in a place where you can locate it yourself
later. When you have selected the location, click “Save”.
3. When the save is complete, you will see the following window.
Click “Close”.
The download of the firmware is complete. To update the firmware,

Easiest way to update your ps3? do you use your usb-slot or the network-connection-slot?

Hi

The easiest way by far to perform an update is when your ps3 is connected to the internet.

1) Go to the settings menu
2) Select system update
3) Select update via internet

You will get a message if your system is already up to date. Otherwise the update will be downloaded and installed automatically for you.

System updates via PC are a lot more complicated - however if you cannot connect to the Net with your ps3 to the internet for some reason you can have a look at this guide on how to do this which is very good.
http://ps3explained.com/advanced/system-updates-via-pc/

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

Do need the internet, just go into your settings tab on the intro menu for the PS3 and hit system update. Use the via internet option and it finds the newest version...2.70. Takes a bit to download but, when it's done you get to enjoy watching the otherwise $30 drink coaster.
