Question about Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

I have just purchased a TEACH Home Theatre System PLD605. We have the rear speakers working but the Front Speakers, Centre Speaker and Sub Woofer are not working at all. We have checked the connections over and over again and have also tried the settings/setup but with little success. Can you please advise what we are doing wrong? Desperately seeking help Regards Cindy

4 ohm and 8 ohm speakers

You can plug in higher ohm speakers , the higher the ohm the higher the resistance is, it is a danger when you plug lower ohm speakers into a higer ohm Amp , at a high volume that will cause them to blow , the center speaker would be fine to use a higer ohm speaker , your best choice is to buy a Active Subwoofer, which means the sub has it's own power supply , and u can blast the thing as much as u like , thn u can turn the bass down on all the other speaker's so u can play it louder , and have the sub turned up has high as u like , this is the best way to get great sound with high volume , buy a Active sub woofer , any active subwoofer is ok , a active sub woofer has its own volume and inputs on the speaker ,

How to install a 5.1 home theater system

1. Read the installation guidline/connection diagram given with the product.
2. u will get 5 speakers and a subwoofer. speakers are front left & right, rear left & right and center speaker.
3. install the front spearkers both side of the TV at ur ear level.
4. install the centre speaker at the centre above or below the TV at ur ear level.
5. install both the rear speaker at the back side wall corners (min 1.5 feet from ur sitting position) at a hight of 5 feet. face the speakers towards ur sitting position.
6. keep the sub woofer at the right side corner of the room.
7. note that the room should be a closed one with less air ventilession & use a carpet on the floor to get clear sound.
8. use co-excial or optical fibre cable to connect ur home theater system to ur TV, DVD player or audio device.
Now u can enjoy ur home theater.

Hi I have bought a new sony DAV-DZ310 model home theatre.I have connected all the speakers and a woofer. All are working fine except the center speaker. It is not at all working.I have made the connections...

This may not be Dependant on the Music or DVD, but with the setting on the Home Theater system. Try out all the modes - such as 2 Speaker, Multi etc. within the Home Theatre system. In one of the mode only the center speaker works.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I do not have a manual for positioning the speakers - do you have one

home theatre speaker have a common rule setting for true sound reproduction .
two main speakers at the front , centre speaker under or on top of TV , sub woofer on left or right at the front and the two remaining speakers for the rear above ear level .
Depending on the size of the room and speakers position will vary .
Its really up to your ears to judge the right position of your speakers .
it is a common rule to position speakers depending on the height of the lounge as well which will require a good understanding of true audio setting .
My advise to you is really go to a audio dealer and ask a few questions in regards to what is the best senario for your set up .
you may be able to find serious audio setups in audio book and brochures but the best advise to you is really hunt through technician by asking a few questions regarding your system .

Noise comming from centre speaker of panasonic scpt560 home theatre system

check the cable 1st. If this speaker is powered, you could have a bad shield, or the power is causing a ground loop.
If the speaker is coming from an amp using speaker wire ie: 2 lead + - check the connection and make sure no fraid strands are touching each other on the rear connection.
In addition check your TV, Ap, And speaker system (if sub is powered independently) are all on the same curcuit.
a certain cause for ground looping resulting in hum.

Hi, maybe, like my HT-THX25, my book states that sound will only be heard from the rear speakers when in DVD 5.1 or Dolby Pro Logic 11 mode, peronally I would love to hear sound from any of my speakers when TV is on lol. Geoff

Installation Help

This means that you have purchased a three piece home theatre system. Two tweeters and a sub-woofer. Assuming you are using a Stereo player (Tape/CD/DVC)you have to connect the Left Output of the Stereo placer to the Left Input at the back of the Sub-Woofer and the Right output to the Right input of the subwoofer by cables. Then take tweeters and connect them to Right speaker and Left speaker output at the back of the sub-woofer ( note if the speakers are marked L/R, then connect them to the subwoofer output accordingly. In case you are using a 5.1 player, then only connect the front right and front left to the Right and Left input at the back of the subwoofer. You are and you can now start playing your music or movies and and you will get theatre quality sound.
