- Update:Seems that HDCP is the cupret. If I disconnect the HDMI cable from the cable box to the TV, the problem is cured.
What should I do? Scrap that expensive HDMI cable and use component cables instead to my TV?
Is there much difference in picture quality between component and HDMI cables?

- Sound but no picture...Changed cable box from a digital one to an HD one. No picture from HD cable box to DVD recorder. Have DVD recorder RCA DRC8030N. DVD's play fine. Recorded shows on HDD play fine. If I hook up the cable to DVD before the cable box it works fine (but of course I only get basic cable that way). I've tried a few ways to connect from cable box to DVD player. Just coax, just yellow/white/red rca jacks, both of the above together, S-video/white rca/red rca. DVD recorder does not have component input, only output. Sometimes when I first turn it on I get a picture for maybe 10 seconds, then it disappears, only sound.- poconojoe57

- Player will not display disk video on own screen. LCD menu displays fine, as do adjustment menus. Setup menu will not display. Everything displays fine on external TV when connected. Just no video feed to internal screen. Line select is on OUT. - flydutchNov 20, 2008

i had same problem . I took it apart and it started to work. while I was putting it back together it stop working again....found that when one screw was removed from bottom of player the screen worked, but when screw was out in it stopped. left screw out and seems to be working fine. Screw from back under battery near screen

set it to progressive and the set went blank. its possible that its not equipped 4 progressive but how do i return 2 set up 2 change it back 2 interface?

sometimes I get a picture; sometimes I don't - lately its been more of the latter. Plenty of sound tho

Sometimes the picture comes on, sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't matter if its on battery power or is plugged in. How do you reset or reboot it?

I have sound, but cannot get picture. The screen is filled with lines and there is static at times. I don't have the manual. Does the tv have to be set on a certain channel. It worked fine last time I used it, about 1 month ago. Thanks
