Mac's have a set of built in drivers that list a group of brands they support with out additional drivers. I can't remember which ones but they tend to like logitech cameras a lot better. They like iSight camera's the best.

How can i install a usb web camera

If the web camera came with an installation disk, use the disk to install drivers then plug the web camera in a USB port. The computer should recognize it. If it is properly recognized it will work with all applications that support a webcam (Skype, MSN, Google chat..) If it is not recognized and you do not have an installation software, you should go to the manufacturers web site to download appropriate drivers.

I have a Dell 530 S Dell Inspiron. Its Webcam has stopped working. Any solutions

The very first step is of course to check your web cam connection. Most web cams use the USB port to connect to the PC, so check if your USB cable is properly plugged. For build-in web cams this steps does of course not apply. Many new laptops have a build-in web cam. Also try connecting your web cam directly to your PC instead of through a USB hub (if you are using one).

The next thing is to do is to check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly.

It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but the right drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark will indicate a problem.
Other devices in Windows XP device manager

If the device is not recognized in Windows XP, Right-click the device, and in the pop up menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers.

In case no driver for the web cam can be found, you can try a third party driver finding program that scans your PC for installed hardware and allows you to install missing drivers.

If this fails, the next step would be to un install the software that came with your web cam. Use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. If that does not work you can use a third party un installer.

After un installing the software, restart your PC and then reinstall the web cam software. In most cases this will solve the problems. Depending on the software, you might need to unplug your web cam during the software installation. If your problem is not fixed then you have to buy a new one.

Hope the above information will be helpful to you.
Thanks.

I have problems with my hp web camara it freeze it a lot on messanger any help

Hi,
If your web camera freezes check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly. It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but the right drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark will indicate a problem. If the device is not recognized in Windows XP, it will be listed under Other Devices
In either case you can try to update the drivers. Right-click the device, and in the pop up menu select Update Driver Software.
If the drivers and web cam software are correctly installed, and you still it freezes, there can be a problem with the program settings. Most chat and meeting software have a configuration option to select the video source for the web cam feature. If you have multiple devices that qualify for video, you might need to select your web cam device as the source for the web cam feature in that program. Some web cams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the web cam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quick time software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including web cams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c – Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

Thank you !!

My web cam is not working

Try installing your software again with the camera unplugged then attach the cam and see if it is recognized. If it will not, go into Add/Remove software in control panel and remove the cams program and try reinstalling. If you plug the cam in and get no response saying you have a new device your cam may need to be replaced.
