Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera

Blank screen when using webcam

My girlfriend has a Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX webcam, but when we try to communicate, all I see is a blank screen and then her broadcast stops. She can't communicate with anyone, so I think it's in her setup configurations. Any suggestions?

    i have a trust webcam, and when try to communicate with people it just shows a black screen, but when i put the cd in to install it, it tells me it is succesfully installed.

    have a trust webcam wb-3420N it worked on this pc in the past but suddenly shows a black screen now!!

    haven't changed anything.

    formatted my pc and issue persists.

    installed to other pc and worked there just fine.

    any ideas i am getting desperate as company doesn't help since it works on other pc :((

Verify the QuickCam Communicate STX is functional:
  1. Launch QuickCam software (Start > Programs > Logitech > Logitech QuickCam)
  2. Verify that you can see yourself in the QuickCam window as shown below:

Check the camera settings are not too high 320x480 or similair should be enough. Have you installed Windows Messenger live, the new MSN and tried it with that?
