Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

Just set up a 100' track and it seems as though parts of certain track pieces are intermittent as far as receiving power. All cars do the same thing at the same spot on these track pieces so it is not the cars. Any ideas?

My psp got stole from my house how can i track

There is no way to track a PSP, unless you installed a tracking hack onto it before it got stolen. You obviously did not install a tracking hack beforehand, so there really is no way to track it down except for conventional "follow the clues" type things, or calling the cops.

If you did, however install a tracking method onto it before it got stolen, finding out how to use it is as simple as going to the website that supports it.

If you can remember certain marks on it or something unique that can identify it however, keep an eye out for your acquaintances carrying around PSPs. I can say from personal experience that a lot of the time, the thief is closer than you think.

My xbox reads : The disk is unreadable Clean the disc with soft cloth. Restart the console. I have already done that and nothing happens.

Please try to put in an ordinary audio CD track and see if this is detected. If yes the optical is working , if not there is no laser scanning and the possibility of the head being faulty is high.
Now certain cleaner disks are not read and so will not be tracked. hence the rejection but the best is for cleaning manually the laser head eye with a cotton bud very softly and without any pressing of the lens eye.
If there is still no result then watch the CD if it spins or tries to spin. If the head unit moves up or down to focus or in and out of the drive , if so the board seems to work correctly and the possibility of the optical head being the suspected fault is closer.
Finally try to see if the set records on a DVD with a given siganl source. If not the fault is confirmed.
But if any of the above seems otherwise we must recheck with possibilites of the processor board

PS3 surround sound

You will need the optical cable. My receiver only passes video through the hdmi. So I hooked up the HDMI cable to the tv, and the optical cable to the receiver. Once that is done you have to go to the audio settings for the PS3 and chose audio through the optical.

My proview 32'' lcd tv will not turn on but if I keep trying it will eventually turn on. Sometimes when you turn it on the orange led power light will go green and then goes out completely.

Either the main power supply is in the process of failing or an electrical load downstream is causing the supply to shut down to avoid greater damage or a fire. The very efficient power supplies, called 'switched mode,' are far more critical in regards to component quality than the old 'linear' supplies were and more prone to failure. Or, forgetting all that, it could just be another case of crappy assembly quality and an intermittent solder joint failure, something that seems endemic in certain Chinese-manufactured products. The other Asian countries have much better quality of construction but have also become too expensive (labor) for all the the top-end products.

Model 50001 fat ps2 cleaned the lens adjusted the arm...

If your lens is not moving up and down the track at all even in bootup then sounds like your motor is fried. What i'm referring to is this:

You can find similar parts like this .::HERE::.

To verify this, open your dvdrom tray. Power off the PS2 via the swtich on the back of the PS2 (thus leaving the dvdrom tray open) Tare down your PS2 and remove the four screws on the top of your DVD-ROM unit (if this is a fat model, if it's a slimline model you'll have to remove that whole platic piece covering the unit itself) You may have to do some research on this next part (via google) but remove your DVD-ROM tray so you can see the guts of the DVD-ROM. Then power on your PS2. And ask yourself the following questions as you observe.

1.) Does the lens move at all even right after bootup?

2.) Is the siver bar part of the motor(pictured above) turning at all to make it move?

If it doesn't turn at all then there is your problem. If it does turn, and the lens doesn't move at all then the ribbon cable that connects the lens to the board maybe damaged or the lens itself is damaged.

Hope that helps

The wires of your controller maybe faulty.

I suggest that you must have the controller repaired by someone who specializes on game console repair (not just by someone who knows controllers). Some problems may require you to use a soldering iron to remove the faulty parts and replace it with new ones or a multi-tester for testing and removing certain segments of the cable if there is wire problem. Chances are you could get other working parts damaged or hurt yourself, which is not your goal.
