Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Print spooler is printer service if this service is not running, it might not allow you to add or see any printer drivers

Try enabling print spooler service. Follow the instructions

-> double click to open service and select start type as "Automatic"
click on apply and click on "Start" botton to start the service.

Now try to install the drivers

Start by removing the printer driver(s). Check several times, as some printers hide in lots of places. Once the printer/driver(s) are all gone, try a new installation.

This will provide you with the most common default settings.

Spooler not running after Lexmark x83 installation on windows XP laptop

From what you're saying the windows print spooler service is not starting following the installation of your printer (and thereby you cannot print i'm assuming)

try the following to start the print spooler service if it is not already running.
Click Start
Right Click My Computer
Click Manage
Click "Services and Applications"
Click Services
Scroll down to "Print Spooler" and double click on it to open up the properties page
where it says "startup type" select automatic from the combo box list
Apply
If the service is NOT running, start it by clicking "start"
click OK

The print spooler service is started now, and **should** work properly. If the spooler is still not starting properly, then you may have a driver issue and i reccommend uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your printer.

Print Spooler Problem

Try this:

Start the computer in safe mode then delete all the files and the folders in the following two folders: • C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers
• C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\w32x86

Start Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK

Locate and expand the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86
View the list of subkeys. There should only be the following subkeys: • Drivers
• Print Processors
delete any other in this list

Locate and then expand the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
View the list of subkeys. There should only be the following subkeys for the default print monitors: • BJ Language Monitor
• Local Port
• PJL Language Monitor
• Standard TCP/IP Port
• USB Monitor

delete any other in this list then restart your computer.

Good Luck
