Hi Scotty

Just go for it man... The light is a pop assembly, so you will have to go in from the bottom to get access to it. Searched for a service manual to link to you, but not much out there. Do you have a multimeter to do a few DC checks?

How can I hook up my jvc rx-6018v to a gemini xga-2000 amplifier?

you can do it a couple of different ways, depending on what you're trying to do with your set-up.if you're trying to do something different than what I describe here, add a comment.
for independent volume control (each unit contols volume to a set of speakers independent of each other) use the rca 'tape' out of the jvc into the rca inputs on the back of the gemini.this puts a stereo signal from the jvc to the gemini. if you want your gemini to power your subs, get an rca y-splitter (single female to double male) and a single rca cable, hook single rca cable to sub out of jvc, connect y-splitter to gemini rca inputs, and single rca to y-splitter.

I'm no expert, but based on the general idea of operation for a turntable, it sounds like the arm is getting bound up or being hindered in some way. If you pick the arm up and swing it back and forth manually, can you feel a place in the movement that seems to have some degree of resistance? You would want to move the arm very slowly and feel for even the slightest amount of resistance. It doesn't take much force to hold the arm from advancing. An ill positioned wire in the base of the arm could be the culprit or if the unit has an automated return home mechanism, there could be a problem there as well. Maybe working the arm back and forth manually several times to its fullest allowable extension, will help to eliminate the impediment. Do this caringly and without excessive force. I hope this helps.

I've hooked up speakers to my PT 2410 turntable and i get no sound. Is there something missing or am I doing it wrong.

Speakers direct to a turntable? Was that in the manual? I'd think some electronics with amplifiers and volume controls might be useful.

We have purchased a Philips AF 729 Mark II turntable, where can we purchase a stylus for this model and/or what would be compatible to replace this with?

The styus is a function of the cartridge, not the turntable.

For example, this one is sporting an ortofon cartridge of some sort.

While this one is somethng entirely different...

Identify YOUR cartridge if you just want a stylus for it. Then search for that online. The mount is fairly standard if you really want a whole new cartridge. But cartridge alignment and mounting are tricky without the original jigs that usually accompany a good turntable.

I have a Gemini PS-540i mixer. Do you know where i can get some replacement knobs for it?

The only source would be from gemini themselves, give them a call and explain the situation.
If they no longer make / stock them, then they may well just say no. In that case you will have to source 3rd party compatibles. If they exist at all.

My turntable won't work with the pioneer vsx-d608

Your old-school un-preamplified turntable requires an outboard Phono Preamp (*) to PRE-amplify and RIAA-equalize the tiny voltage signal produced by the phono cartridge. It will not work on any Line Level input like Aux or CD. What you will hear is a useless, barely audible, tinny playback.

Carver tfm-35x power amp light replacement

I just picked up the same amp, a Carver TFM-35x, with the same problem, the bulbs that light up the meters are burnt out. They aren't hard to replace, but I didn't know what bulb to use. I found out today that you need to use 12 volt, .15 amp bulbs (150 milliamp). And it needs to be an axial-type bulb.

JVC turntable LA10

The trick is to lift up on the platter (tothat metal on metal feel that you had) while simtaneously "lightly" tapping on the top of the shaft with a hammer. Trust me it will work as just changed my belt.
Hope that helps.
