Question about Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Not recognized by PC

The Go Gear stopped working. When hooked up to the computer it will momentarily recognize the device. Then the message state a "USB Mass Storage device". But the device is NOT recognized. The drive is not recognized. I have tried rebooting the GoGear several different ways. Nothing seems to work. Does anybody other than ThaMp3Doctor have any useful advice? ThaMp3Doctor keeps pasting the same WRONG repair over and over wqsting everyones time. Any real help out there?

Also, when you say the device is not recognized, do you mean that if you go into my computer, there is no new drive (IE l:\ or G:\) there? Or are you getting another error?

That is what I mean by not recognized.

I have the same problem. Restarting it does nothing. On the screen of
the device there is a picture of the device linked to the computer but
it doesn't have the bubble things going across the connection like it
does when it's being recognised. Anytime it's not connected it says
"please connect player to computer" or something. I've tried it on two
computers and a laptop and none of them are recognising it; I think
it's a fundamental fault in the product.

First off.. Make sure your software and drivers are up to date...

Second, try re-installing Windows Media Player or if you have WMP 10 installed, try upgrading to WMP 11.

Also, if you plug in something else to your USB port, does the PC recognize it? Or, if you try your GoGear on another computer, does it work ok?

have you tried another usb device and/or the GoGear on another computer, as I posted in my solution? And making sure you have updated the firmware/software? (this will help eliminate some problems that it may be)

Go Gear is not recognized by computer

You must roll back to WMP 10 - this device is completely incompatible with WMP11 - instructions are on both the Philips and Microsoft websites

After rolling back to 10:
disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Computer does not recognize usb device

Dbl click on "my computer" desktop icon and see what you have listed before you hook it up then dbl click again after you hook it up,,,see if there is anything new listed there,,,if so then that should be the MP3 even though it may not say MP3.Mine says Mass Storage. If its there then just double click that drive and you should be able to drag and drop.
