Re: black chip on the side.one of 'em fell out.
All xbox 360 are given a warranty for the 3 rings of death. If you call microsoft and tell them that your xbox 360 continues to get the rings of death, they will mail you a box, take your console, repair it, install the latest hardware, test it, and mail it back to you for free.

I'd say it was the CPU/GPU chips, however, you could try reapplying the paste to see if that fixes it, however, after that amount of fixes, i think it would be better to get a new 360, since the faulty rate is much lower on the new models.
Its a similar fault to the 3rrod m8, even though you dont have the 3 red lights it is the very same problem. you need to strip down the 360 and go over the mainboard with a heatgun 2-3 inches away from the board in a circular motion. this re-seats the solder and will fix any faulty connections which may be causing this error.
also what you have described seems to be the memory whats the problem, make sure you spend more time with the heatgun over the memory chips.
you can also buy something called a team xecuter 3rrod repair kit which is basically heatsinks for the memory chips - i would very strongly recommend you buy these they are very good. and with your fault being more than likely memory problems then this would help you a lot.
I suggest using three copper pennies per Ram chip. Use a slight
amount of reusable adhesive to stick the pennies together and then to
adhere to the ram chips. Also use pennies made before 1983, they're %100 Copper and make better heat sinks. Note: If problems persist, remove the black screws on
the bottom of 360, but keep the silver screws.
I've had this happen twice now and both times my warranty has just expired by a month, i spend and hour moanin on the phone to xbox but they still want me to pay over £80 to fix it!
So here is what u do; **** and moan to all your friends impotently about it, look at the xbox for long periods of time with distain while muttering insults to yourself, call Bill Gates a complete W**ker repeatedly for a few days and then swallow ur pride in a big lump and end up payin for the damn thing while emtily promising yourself that if it happens again your not getting another one! When it finally does happen again (one month after the warrenty runs out to the day no doubt) repeat the prosses!
