Question about Apple Power Mac G5 Desktop
I start the comp, the apple appears and it dings and then all of the sudden it blinks a folder with a "?" on it and it has a buster symbol around it.
how dod I fix this? what is it?
I have a POWERMAC G4(QUICKSILVER), the mouse on my mac started having a mind of its own. where ever i put the mouse a comand box comes up usually you would have to right click to get this but now it is doing it on tis own. I ran the software update and restarted the computer but it is still doing it. Could someone tell me what could be the problem?
If it won't boot you can't get to System Prefs. Insert the Mac OS CD in the CDROM drive and hold down the "C" key when you boot. This should force the computer to boot from the CD. From there do what you need to do.

When the "?" mark comes up, it means it's looking for the operating system to boot to. It can be fixed by opening system preferences and in the startup settings, select your operating system as the tarted startup. It should speed up boot up time.
