The machine overfills on both hot and cold washes. Manually advancing the timer does not cause agitation to begin as the machine still thinks it needs water.
The pressure pipe that runs from the washing tub to the pressure switch has a hard piece of plastic pipe inside it up near the pressure switch. What does that do ?
Does the washing tub have a diaphragm in it that pushes air up the pipe to the pressure switch ?
I imagine the fault is in one or other of these units. Any advice would be appreciated

These pressure switch's are very sensitive if you remove it give it a shake, blow and **** through the air port(preferably with a bit of clean tube) as i had an insect stuck in mine didn't know until it was sucked out, into the tube and not into Nat's mouth. Some i have read have a float type arrangement inside the clear tube and as water rises it pushes against a switch, mine worked on air pressure as water rose up the tube pressure was sensed thus cutting the water from filling any higher, when you shake it you should hear the centre sliding up and down,it should be free to move and not have a fly stopping it, my machine is a Samsung SW66asp.
Was in great working order before being stored some 15 months, now all functions work except spin; you can hear/ see the pump working but the cage won't spin.

A piece of clothing has pulled out the tube from the water level hose. The issue is the same except that I could move the cycle forward and drain the machine after it had already overflowed and flooded the house. I don't know if plugging the hose back in is the solution as how far does the hard piece of plastic inside the hose from the top need to go in? Does it have to go through both connectors or just remain in the top?
